Travel itinerary check in Ubud & Uluwatu as first time Bali travellers

A bit of background: The last time I was in Bali was 15 years ago and my husband has never been.

We’ll be spending 5 days in Ubud with another 2 in Uluwatu. Husband is not so much a beach person, we both enjoy nature not into clubs/night life.

I did my best to google, look up on this sub, glance around FB Bali travel groups and also asked Chatgpt for travel suggestions, and checking on google maps to find the best way to explore Bali.

I know there are literally tonnes of ‘itinerary checks’ and I apologise in advance!! Just wanted to see if what we’ve come up with sounds reasonable?

We have also been recommended a private driver already so we’ve locked in private transport.

Day 1: Fly in - arrive and check into hotel, early dinner and rest

Day 2: Mount Batur (as we’re probably still adjusting to a different timezone)
- Mount Batur sunrise trek (not jeep) with pick up/return via private tour.
- back to hotel in Ubud and rest/find a spa or massage place
- gentle Campuhan Ridge walk
- light dinner and rest

Day 3: North Ubud Culture & Nature
8:00 AM departure from hotel
8:30–10:00 AM: Gunung Kawi Sebatu Water Temple
10:30–12:00 PM: Tegallalang Rice Terraces
12:15–2:15 PM: Lunch at Cretya Ubud
3:00–4:30 PM: Tirta Empul Temple
4:45–5:45 PM: Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary
Night: Dinner around Ubud centre

Day 4: East Ubud Waterfalls + surrounds
8:00 AM departure
9:00–10:30 AM: Bali Swing for photo
11:00 AM–12:45 PM: Tukad Cepung Waterfall
1:00–2:30 PM: Organic Vanilla Farm by Pak Putu Catur
3:00–4:30 PM: Penglipuran Village
Late afternoon: Return to hotel

Day 5: Temples, Waterfall & Not sure yet...(suggestions welcome)
8:00–8:15 AM departure
8:45–10:00 AM: Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave)
10:30–11:45 AM: Kanto Lampo Waterfall
Still deciding the rest of the day

Day 6: Ubud > Uluwatu
around 10am: check out of hotel and drive to garuda wisnu kencana cultural park
afternoon: Check into hotel in Pecatu
around 4pm: Uluwatu Temple + Uluwatu Kecak Dance then back to hotel

Day 7: half day left before flying home

Thank you! 🙏**🏻**

Wedding gift for a destination wedding for a HK couple

I’m attending my HK friend’s wedding at the end of the month. My friend studied abroad, which is where we met, and they will be having a wedding overseas as it’s a destination wedding. I know it is customary in Hong Kong weddings where guests usually gift red pockets, but what is customary in this situation?

Should we be gifting a physical gift? Red pockets? If so, how much is expected?

Thank you in advance!
