New manager scrutinizing decisions that were made/approved of months ago.

I'm working on a few ongoing projects right now that I've had to cut some corners of quality (large PRs, code that isn't super documented) as my skip was putting a ton of pressure on my manager at the time to deliver XYZ in a quick timeline and then forcing the entire team (namely me) to pivot to other projects for scope.

For example: I start working on Part 1 of project 1, I can round it off but can't finish it (make it "quality") because my skip sets deadline for Part 2 of Project 1 to be much sooner.

Then I get thrown into being lead on Project 2 because the original guy quit and left 0 documentation. I get told it has a deadline for the following week.

Enter manager 2, who replaces manager 1 during the madness. He's been giving me feedback that the code that the decisions I've made (Project 1 Part 1 and Project 2) aren't really to "standard" and he's implying that I'm not meeting expectations, even though my old manager approved of the decisions I was taking/the direction I was going with the project.

Is it worth it to change teams? I got the highest rating during July's yearly review cycle which is equivalent to Top Performer, but my fear with this new manager who came in 3 weeks ago is that I'm definitely not meeting these updated expectations.

M/30/5'11" [163ish >159 = 4 Pounds lost] (11 months) First two months were cutting to 155, then bulking up to 170, now back to 159. Next, to 150

Top is now, Bottom is before. I haven't done anything crazy, just Stronglifts 5x5, dips, chin ups, some mild upper body hypertrophy exercises, and lots of rock climbing.

Now I'm eating at a calorie deficit so I can make it to 150 and then start bulking up to 165. At 170 I just was too fat for comfort

I don't fully remember if I was 163 or not in the bottom photo, I think I may have been around there. Top photo is after a pump, usually I look like I've never spent a day in the gym 😭

How to ask for a raise? Is it worth it if your boss calls you a "High Performer"?

My boss told me during my 1 on 1 that I'm a high performing software engineer and that I have skills here which put me above other senior SWEs here. He has also told me that the Director of SWE during calibrations was singing songs of praise about me and what I've delivered and how I've mentored people, etc

Great! Now it's time for them to put their money where their mouth is!!! I feel like I'm primed to ask for a raise and maybe or maybe not get it.

If you were me, how would you approach this conversation, if at all?

Is it worth becoming an Engineering Manager at my company if that's the way to move up?

I've been a senior SWE at this startup for the past few months and evidently I've been kicking ass, my skip approached me and asked if I wanted to be promoted to EM. It sounds good, and I've offered mentorship to junior engineers before, but I've never managed performance.

It sounds like the Engineering Manager position at my gig is more like a tech lead that does some supervisor stuff, include performance management, calibrations, etc. I was told that my job will include more of setting the technical direction of the team than my current senior SWE role does.

I'm a bit nervous about having to potentially fire people though. It seems the way most people get promoted here though is to an EM role since staff isn't really given out here and I've confirmed this IS a promotion.

Is it worth it from a career opportunity perspective?

Looking for the soundtrack/score to Fortress of War (Брестская крепость, 2010)

I have been a huge fan of the movie Fortress of War for a long time, but I have had an incredibly difficult time tracking down its soundtrack. Since there doesn't seem to be an official commercial album release on Western streaming platforms, I assume it might only exist in Russian music spaces. The orchestral score by composer Yury Krasavin is absolutely incredible and plays a huge role in why I love the film so much. Can anyone here help me find a full tracklist, a download link, or a Russian site where the complete score is hosted? Any help or links to where the music can be streamed would be greatly appreciated!

Loud Ass AC in my apt. I need some over the ear solution for someone with large ears to help me out

It's fucking hot on the East Coast and I can't sleep without AC, but my AC is too damn loud and I can't sleep with it on either. I have some sony ANC Headphones that I sleep with + ears plugs and it does a great job, the only problem is the headphones are super uncomfortable as I have large elephant ears.

Any over the ear solution would be great, any ideas? Ear buds/ear plugs alone don't work. My ac is 60 DB, it's horrible.
