Atheists Don't Realize the Absurdity of Existence

I believe atheists fundamentally don't realize just how absurd existence is at all. Things seem to exist, deterministically. Yet, a fully contingent system can't explain itself. Somehow, reality is self-causing. This breaks our brain and can't actually make sense to us. If reality can't exactly make sense, then we can only "know" anything via a subjective experience. Objectivity will never cross this bridge.

If subjective experience is our only guide to reality, then I think the question of God's existence, which is clearly un-answerable, has an equal chance of being both true and false. Do you feel that we are the product of a larger mind. Does your gut tell you that there is some sort of intelligent organization of reality that is similar to how we intelligently organize the world in our minds? If so, you believe in "God."

Whatever the "truth" is, will have to sound absolutely absurd.

For any system to be free is impossible, yet more impossible is lack of freedom

Let me define "freedom" as the ability to act outside of determinism and randomness (essentially, "the ability to do otherwise").

While this seems impossible (for if it were not impossible, what is the cause of the free decision if it wasn't random, or determined by something else), THINGS EXIST. THINGS COULD NOT EXIST IF ALL THINGS ARE DETERMINED BY SOMETHING ELSE, FOR NOTHING WOULD EVER EXIST.

So ultimately, we must accept that reality somehow unfolds in part from lack of deterministic causes, as impossible as it is to comprehend what that means. No person or AI or anything will ever be able to understand this within this plain of existence. So this conversation is meaningless.

Anyone looking for some free help in northern VA area?

Hey people. I have zero experience building homes, and want to just help people out so that I can learn. I am highly motivated/dependable etc, but due to my 9-5, can really only help out during weekend shifts. If anyone has a company and wants some free help building these babies, please feel free to DM me!

Hearing loss from hemotympanum

Hi everyone,
I have hemotympanum from flying about 5 days ago. I would say I have lost about 90% of my hearing in that ear. Seems to not be improved at all in 5 days. Just looking for anyone's experience with getting something like this, and hopefully get some reassurance that the hearing loss is totally temporary.

Thanks so much

Infinite regress doesn’t save determinism

An infinite regress still requires the cause that made it that way. If there is no cause, then the infinite regress is self-caused, which disproves determinism right off the bat!

Contingent systems can’t explain themselves.

Anyone use this no starter method?

https://youtu.be/gucesEUWwsM

Just found this on YouTube and was wondering if it’s legit. Not sure how it’s possible with no starter, but also seems better than other videos suggesting to use plastic in the process. I’m making a batch now but also concerned I won’t know if it’s bad or not until it’s too late.

Free Will as An Idea is incoherent

"Anything existing at all" is just as incoherent, yet undeniable.

Determinism is self-defeating. Free will, while totally and forever mysterious to us, is real. It cannot make sense for there to be some creative ability in reality, yet it is required for reality to exist. So determinists, get off your depressed ass, stop denying your most basic subjective experience, and start living! Life is fucking magic!
