rx 6700xt or 3060 (non ti) 12gb

need help deciding between these 2 gpus. my pc budget is around 729-900 usd, and so i decided to go for either one of these gpus. which is these gpus is best for my pc use case, which is cad and physics simulations in java, using linux as my operating system. i could go for 6700xt which according to internet research, seems to be kinda faster than 3060, but then again 3060 utilizes cuda, so idk

what accept_license variable should i use

i used ACCEPT_LICENSE="-* @FREE" but when i did emerge --ask sys-kernel/linux-firmware, it showed the error above, but when i asked chatgpt, it said use either ACCEPT_LICENSE="@FREE linux-fw-redistributable" or ACCEPT_LICENSE="*", but i don't want to just copy its code. i want to ask you guys, who are a lot more knowledge than some llm, so please help. so close to installing gentoo. thanks!

edit as of 12:20pm est: i just realized i saw the system telling me to check MASKED PACKAGES section in gentoo handbook. ill check it out, but ill just wait for you guys to respond

what's the best possible pc build for $781 usd or under (excluding monitor, headphones/speakers, and peripheries) for cad design, physics simulations (in java), using linux as the operating system?

so my total budget is 900 us dollars, but I got 781 to spare due to the monitor being 119. btw, i had asked 2 other prebuilt subreddits about this, but someone there suggested me a pc build, and it seemed better than the prebuilts, so that's why im asking about some suggestions for a pc build for my use cases:

- cad design

- physics simulations in java

- linux

please let me know, and thanks a lot

[suggestion]: i need help finding the best pc i can for 700 dollars

well, technically, my entire budget is 900 dollars, but im spending 139 on a acer monitor i found on amazon, so i got 761 dollars to spare for the actual pc. btw, i dont need peripheries or speakers, as i already got headphones and mouse/keyboard. mainly want a pc for cad design and physics simulations in java. ik this isn't a good budget for that stuff, and id probably need to spend more, but it's for my birthday, and im trying to get the best prebuilt i can for the price. i thought about building a pc to sort of gain experience, but that's kinda hard when looking at the prices rn, and people 1-2 months ago (made a similar post in r/buildapc ) told me prebuilts are gonna be cheaper, so i decided to ask here. anyway, all help is appreciated, and thank you

I already posted this in the discord, and they were fine with it. idk if y'all are fine with this question, but anyway im just looking for anyone selling these gpus. im not really planning to buy right away, but i do want to know who is selling just in case if i can buy. mainly want the gpus for my pc build i wanna get for my birthday, but i gotta make sure my parents are okay with getting that for my birthday, because i asked and they haven't really said much about it, so it's not guaranteed im gonna buy either one of these gpus either.

hey, so i just had a question about whether this guide by flipped math is good also for 18.01, because i think the guide is designed for ap calculus, but i heard ap calculus, atleast bc version, is equivalent to 18.01, so i was wondering if this review guide was good for reviewing what i need to know for 18.01. just want to make sure, because i plan to self study over the summer, and want to be sure if this is it, before june 3rd, which is when summer starts for me.

we're getting 5s today dw. im kinda worried cuz i didnt study much last night cuz i had another assignment from my ap teacher, but i did quite well on the mcq, so just gotta perform equally on frq. easily a 4, maybe 5. but im confident i will ace and get a 5. even if you don't get a 5, you'll probably do well. it's not the end of the world if we don't get a 5, as taking the class in general is already more impressive since many of our peers probably didn't either. also, if you did well in the class, i think that will still reflect well beyond high school, even if you sorta flunk the exam.

anyways, just wanted to say gl, even though it's 6:14 in the morning lol

well, i, as of right now, am a arch user, and have been for the last 6 months, and have been using linux in general for the past 7 months, so im still a noob. well i want to try gentoo, and so far, i absolutely love the wiki installation guide, like bro if arch wiki was this good at explaining things concisely for noobs like me, id never consider switching. anyway though, i thought gentoo is a pretty cool distro, mainly because you can tinker even more with your system than arch, even though i don't tinker that much. im a high school student, and ik this is a weird question, but i wanted to know how do y'all like daily drive this distro, because i heard the compiling times are a pain in the butt, which is why many people avoid the distro, especially since they can take hours and days. i'm sort of busy with school, but it's really not that bad.

basically, im asking on whether I should actually consider using this distro or it's too "time-consuming" for me, because arch is pretty easy to handle, even though many people say otherwise. honestly for me, it's actually much more efficient to use arch than even debian and mint since they're slightly more slower, and arch is very responsive and stable.

my purposes for linux are mainly basic tasks (just like watching movies or googling stuff lol) and some programming. programming will be especially more significant if i can hopefully get a pc for my birthday, as i want one for programming and cad design, etc.

also i have tried gentoo in a vm, though i haven't fully installed, but i think i can confidently install it. i was like 40-50% done with the entire installation, but just got side tracked with other things lol

so i am interested in self studying japanese and chinese, and saw https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/21g-501-japanese-i-fall-2019/ and https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/21g-101-chinese-i-regular-fall-2014/ , and they seemed like pretty cool courses. sorry if its a silly question, but just wanted to ask how good are these courses for learning the language, compared to using resources like anki, genki, hsk standard books, tae kim's guide, etc. is it like more of like a high school class feel of taking the same language, where your teacher helps with pronunciation and grammar and vocab, but you still gotta retain that info by studying outside of class, or what? im new to enrolling in language courses, and used to only self studying or taking it at high school

not sure if this is the right place to ask this, if not, i will delete the post

So to be honest, it's mostly my fault, but lately, atleast the past 3 weeks, I been sort of procrastinating, and my grade in the class is still surprising like a 97 or 98, but ngl my teacher is generous with dropping assignments/tests/quizzes I got a bad score on for a good grade I got, like the lowest grade I got once was a 57, and of course it happened because I didn't study. But she also assigns a lot, and i mean a lot of homework, like she assigned 2 huge review packets this week, with a combined total of like 300 questions, though tbf, one of them, that has 200 questions, is a grand review that we do together in class, so I guess it isn't so bad. Anyway, that hasn't happened since like november or smth, and so far, my lowest grade has been on quizzes/tests, which is like 70s and 80s. Assigns pop quizzes and stuff, but ye.

Sorry I got off topic, but ye just wanted to provide context that I am doing pretty well in the class, but I feel like I'm going to bomb the exam. The vocab part is actually not that bad, and I have Anki as my trusty tool so that's good. But I always struggle with the application and real world example, and I saw u/EPICNESS2500's pinned post on how that's vital for the example. Well, how can I get good at this? Additionally, I struggle with the task verbs, like I still don't quite understand the difference between describe and explain, as well as explain to the degree of, explain how, explain why, identify, and compare. Like I sort of understand what they're asking, but don't know how to answer. Can you guys provide examples or help on such questions? Idk if there's anything else I need to have locked in for the exam, but yeah. I'm worried, as the exam is in less than 2 weeks, and we just started reviewing everything for the exam this week, as we had finished unit 7 last week. Just want that 5, or even a perfect score. Also, especially for the FRQs, I want to try being concise, as being concise helps you answer quicker and helps you be able to finish the exam on time, and my teacher said she knew a student who apparently got a perfect score on the FRQs with less than 20 words, like it's insane

Also any resources to help make sure I get a 5/perfect score? My teacher has let us use AMSCO, but I been using Princeton Review. How can I use them correctly, because I feel like I am not quite using them correctly, because sometimes I choose to read AMSCO, and other times I choose to read Princeton Review. any anki decks also? quizlet decks is great too, as I can just easily convert them into Anki Decks through a add-on

Sorry if this is a lot lol.
