Sons first gaming PC

I am looking for recommendations for pre built gaming PC's for my son. He is 11 and looking to get into casual gaming. P.s. I have almost no experience with anything PC related.

(edit) We are looking to spend $1,200-$1,500 total, including accessories.

Thoughts on these VIST prebuilts (Polish company)

This is the PC I am looking at (I live in Slovenia): https://www.bigbang.si/vist-breeze-pc-gaming-ryzen-7-7700-ram-32gb-rtx-50-izdelek-21630391/

I love the individual components, especially the motherboard which is really good. The SSD and RAM don't list the manufacturer but I'm assuming it's going to be something like Kingston. The one "concern" I have is whether the 650W PSU is enough for the 5060 Ti, but from what I read it should be fine.

There is an alternative to this PC, with 16GB RAM and a 5060 (the rest of the components are the same): https://www.bigbang.si/vist-breeze-pc-gaming-ryzen-7-7700-ram-32gb-rtx-50-izdelek-21630391/ .

I looked at so many other websites and so many other prebuilts, but they are all "worse" than these: A620 or basic B650 motherboards, unknown PSUs, Ryzen 5 8400F or Ryzen 7 8700F, RTX 5050's, way slower SSDs, not that good motherboard rear I/O (one prebuilt has 2 USB3s and 4 USB2s... cmon), and so on.

For the budget and why I'm going prebuilt: I can use some company bonuses to basically get a ~1600euro PC, but since I'm buying through the company and it's not me who is ordering (+ there are some other details I'm leaving out), I don't want to complicate by buying 10 individual parts. Then again, the parts in these prebuilts seem amazing to be honest - maybe I'd swap out the PSU down the line.

Please let me know your thoughts, I'm looking forward to hearing them!

Used 9800X3D + RTX 5070 Ti build for £1,450 — good deal or too risky without warranty? [suggestion]

Hi all, looking for opinions on a used gaming PC I’m considering buying in the UK.

The seller originally wanted more, but has agreed to £1,450 collected if I come soon. It’s apparently around 1 year old, bought as a prebuilt from AWD-IT, but there’s no transferable warranty as far as I can tell. The seller says it is fully working and is happy for me to run checks before buying.

Specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Ti AERO OC 16GB
  • Motherboard: MSI B650M Project Zero
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5 6000MHz
  • Storage: 2 × Samsung 9100 Pro 1TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSDs
  • Cooler: MSI MAG CoreLiquid E240 AIO
  • PSU: MSI MAG A850GL PCIe5 850W Gold
  • Case: MSI MAG PANO M100R PZ
  • OS: Windows 11

I entered the parts into UK PCPartPicker and the total came to around £2,570 new, although I know that includes current retail pricing, inflated RAM prices, Windows cost, etc. I’m not treating that as the actual used value, but it does suggest it would be expensive to recreate new.

My alternative is buying a new prebuilt, something like a 9800X3D + RX 9070 XT system for around £1,700–£1,750 with a proper retailer warranty.

My main use case is 1440p high-refresh gaming, mostly WoW/MMOs, multiplayer games, and future AAA games. I already have a 1440p 240Hz OLED monitor.

The seller is happy for me to run:

  • CPU-Z to confirm CPU/RAM/motherboard
  • GPU-Z to confirm GPU
  • CrystalDiskInfo for SSD health
  • Windows activation check
  • Short CPU/GPU stress test
  • General temperature/noise/artifact checks
  • Visual inspection for damage/leaks/weird cabling

My concern is mainly the no warranty side. If the GPU, motherboard, AIO, or PSU fails later, I’m on my own.

Would you consider this a strong enough deal at £1,450 to take the risk if all tests pass, or would you spend more on a new/warrantied prebuilt instead?

Any red flags with these parts/build combo?

Aesthetic looking gaming PC under $2000 [suggestion]

Hi! I’m a mobile gamer and I was thinking about swapping to PC. I play quite demanding games such as Infinity Nikki or Wuthering Waves. I’d also love to play Witcher 4 in the future for example.

I’m completely new to the PC topic and I was wondering if it’s feasible to buy one under $2000 and for the PC to look nice (minimalistic design, maybe some dark wood elements… more elegant/mature aesthetic).

Any recommendation?

Prebuilt PC [suggestion] that outperforms Xbox Series X under $1100?

How’s it going! I’m very new to PC gaming and want to find a prebuilt that fits my needs as I slowly learn how to build a PC myself in the future.

Here are some of the conditions I’m looking for, keep in mind I’ve been console shackled for like 80% of my life so if I sound a little ignorant, I deeply apologize:

- I want this PC to handedly outperform an Xbox Series X, at least 1440p (I could go down to 1080p if it’s out of my budget) and 60 FPS for most games. “Most games” qualifies as anything that is in the Microsoft/Xbox store and can be run on the Series X.

- I want this PC to be able to run emulation software such as Xenia. I’m assuming this is a given considering the performance I’m looking for, but just in case.

- I’m not picky about storage, though I’d prefer at least a 1TB SSD.

- My budget is confidently about $1100-1200, though I can slightly push above it if need be.

- If at all possible, a modular build using standardized parts that I could upgrade in the future with say additional ram or other components would be wonderful.

- I’m not picky about the case or cooling, just want to make sure I’m getting adequate airflow.

Links to specific products would be amazing, thank you.

[discussion] Which PC should I go for as a first time PC owner?

Title.

There’s this PC: iBUYPOWER Gaming Desktop PC AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 32GB DDR5 1TB SSD GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB Windows 11 Home for $1,800

The other PC: Andromeda Insights V3 Advanced Gaming PC - RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7 | Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz (5.0
GHz Turbo Boost) | 16GB DDR5 6000MHz | 1TB
Gen4 SSD | 850W Gold PSU | ARGB Fans | Wi-Fi +
BT | Win 11 for $1,769

Both systems are on sale (so prices will change) and around the same price, but one has a better GPU and the other has more RAM. I plan to at least play 1440p 240hz or anything better really than what I’m used to which is 1080p 120hz on Xbox.

Which pc+ equipment should I get to play complex games like cyberpunk 2077, so that it won´t feel like playing on a stove? [Discussion]

So recently I bought cyberpunk 2077 on steam on my laptop. I was very excited to play it, but unfortunately I overestimated the capacity of my laptop. Because as soon as i started playing it got really hot and made a lot of noise + the gaming experience was very buggy.

Then I thought, alright, why not just fix some settings that should fix the problem. And it did surprisingly! But only for about 5 minutes...:(

The past few days I looked at different websites, but I highkey did not understand anything. ( I am not very keen on computer language and so on)

So can you peeps maybe recommend me some equipment? Also, I´m just a student, so my budget is not that high.

I´m grateful about any recommendation or tip :)

*I am looking for a pc, since I gave up on the idea to play games on my laptop

HP OmniDesk M02 Ryzen 7 8700G vs HP EliteDesk 805 G9 SFF Ryzen 7 8700G — Which should I buy?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to decide between two desktops and could really use some advice from people who know more about PCs than I do.

The two systems are:

1 HP OmniDesk M02 Tower

2 HP EliteDesk 805 G9 SFF

which one would you personally buy and why?

Is the "OmniDesk M02" genuinely the better long-term purchase, or is there some advantage to the "EliteDesk 805 G9 SFF" that I'm overlooking? It's just what i have understood from my research is that the OmniDesk is a full tower-like PC; what i mean is it has a bunch more room in it and has more power source and stuff.

From what i understand on the "EliteDesk 805 G9 SFF" (Small Form Factor), it's just a smaller tower and has a specific amount of power supply to it, which would make it run less efficient.

But yeah, i'm gonna have to use Klarna to pay for one of these that way i can afford to get it.

Right now i currently have an "EliteDesk 800 G3 i7 mini" computer that i use as my daily driver, and it's really, really kinda slow and lags and stuff, like with opening Brave browser and opening multiple tabs and opening multiple applications like 10 at a time and running them, stuff like Signal Messenger, qBittorrent, ProtonVPN, Tor Browser, Chrome, ChatGPT, Grok, etc., on and on. And browser tabs i have open like 25 at a time, maybe more. But i will say even with not this many things opened, the 800 G3 still lags bad and isn't so fast or smooth. I have Linux Mint XFCE installed on it, and i have it dual booted with Windows 11 and Linux Mint.

So yes, i'm wondering if i upgrade to one of these other computers like "Omnidesk M02" or "EliteDesk 805 G9 SFF" will i be looking at a major upgrade as far as my multitasking not being so slow and being held back. All i want is THINGS TO FLY AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, LIKE INSTANT, HENCE I CLICK A BUTTON AND IT'S THERE IN UNDER NANOSECOND LOL.

So yes, if anyone here could guide me in the right direction—maybe one of you all own one of these computers or have owned one of them in the past, idk. But yeah, if you could just help me out. Maybe I need to just go with a totally different computer altogether. Honestly, I would rather go with a laptop that was as fast as one of these desktops, but laptops are so, so much more expensive—it’s crazy.

Like right now, $300 is what I’m trying to stay at, but $500 would be my limit, and I’m looking to buy used and get it on a payment plan. But a used laptop that has the specs and power behind it as the EliteDesk 805 G9 would really be what I for sure would buy, just as long as it’s not over $500.

Anyways, if any of you could help me out, I’d appreciate it. Because really my main goal here is to just get something way faster than the Elitedesk 800 g3 i7 i currently have it's just a nightmare at multi-tasking if you know what i mean lol.

Oh and P.S with someting like the "OmniDesk M02" i don't mind getting a deal on it where it doesn't have a SSD or Ram in it and stuff because i have SSD and stuff in my other computers i can just swap out, like idk if this would even be possible but if i bought a pc without a ssd and i put my ssd into that computer would i even be able to just boot up my normal linux mint desktop, i'v read conflicting thngs about that some say yes some say other stuff.

Thanks for any advice.

[suggestion] I want to find a good prebuilt gaming pc

As the title says, I’m looking for a good prebuilt pc that can handle modern games and will be good for its price.

My budget is around 2,000usd (could go a bit higher if needed).

This is my first ever pc and I have no experience whatsoever.

[discussion] trying to find the best mini pcs 2026 has to offer under a $400 budget limit

unpopular opinion but the standard desktop tower is totally dead for basic office work and general media consumption.

trying to completely clear off my desk space and downsize to a micro footprint. i’ve been combing through lists trying to find the absolute best mini pcs 2026 has dropped so far, but honestly everything looks like a carbon copy of the same generic plastic brick.

i have a strict $400 limit. i just need this thing for massive multitasking across endless excel sheets, light coding sessions, and 4k streaming on a dual monitor setup.

the problem is i don’t want to deal with buying barebones kits and having to manually install windows or upgrade cheap storage and sketchy no-name ram. i need something reliable that works straight out of the box. what specific models or actual reputable brands in this price bracket should i be looking at right now?
