Friend is looking for a prebuilt. Budget up to $3k, but I’d hate for him to overspend and I’m sure he doesn’t NEED a $3k pc. Need advice.

Hey all. My friend wants to get into higher end PC gaming. He wants 4k60 capability for single player games and 1440p144 on max settings for competitive games. I haven’t built a Pc since 2022, but I feel like he’d only really need a 9070xt or a 5070ti at most? I’d love some advice or direct recommendations. We ARE near a microcenter.

Looking for a $2-3k PC (prebuiilt or otherwise) for a friend and need help.

  • Budget - $2-3k
  • Use-Case - literally just gaming
  • Country of purchase - USA
  • Peripherals needed - none
  • Any other requirements / preferences - He wants to game high frames at 1440p max/maybe 4k60 for single player games

I have a friend looking to get into PC gaming (at the worst time, i know.) He set his budget in the title, and I am curious about options. Kinda torn on the 5070, 5070ti, 9070 and 9070xt. I havent built a pc in years (rocking the 3070) and just need a little guidance. He is chasing at least 1440p on high-max settings. He wouldn't mind the ability for 4k60 either.

Any way to "pad" the grips of the Xeno Plus to make it fit larger hands?

I love this controller, but my hands are around 21x10 CM and its a bit small (not too bad, no real cramping.) Are there any aftermarket grips or ways to slightly increase its size?

Best money Clip wallet: Popov Money Clip, Mitchell Money Clip, or Ashland Capone? or Other?

Basically the title. I am looking for a money clip wallet to carry. Any advice on these? When it comes to looks, i prefer Popov then Ashland then Mitchell, though none of it is by much.

Gulikit ES compared to the Xbox series in size?

Asking because I just got the Xeno Plus, and it’s a little cramped. The Gulikit ES Max just launched, and if it’s closer to the Xbox controller in size, I may get that instead.

Which would you buy?

The uplift has another $100 off with a coupon, but the deskhaus is rubberwood. 6’4, though long arms so measured my standing desk work height would be only around 44-45”. I prefer the frame color on the uplift, but the deskhaus is a bit cheaper.

4 leg uplift v3 vs Deskhaus Peak Pro: any tangible difference?

Looking for a standing desk for work. I’m about 6’4 if that makes a major difference. The Deskhaus Peak Pro has a deal for the frame, cable management, and a Rubberwood top for $850. The V3 priced out for me is $1100. Id love some insight.

I am looking for a PC controller for Single Player and Competitive FPS games under $80 that is wireless and has back paddles.

  • Your budget with currency - <$80 preferred
  • Your country - USA
  • Console or platform compatibility needed - Steam/Emulators
  • Desired features - Back Paddles, TMR or HE sticks, low latency wireless
  • Types of games you'll be playing - Single Player games, competitive shooters, soulslikes
  • Controllers you've been considering - Flydigi Vader 5 pro, LEADJOY Xeno Plus are my 2 i've looked at the most.

I am looking for a controller to buy and use for the next 6 months or so until my supposed Steam Controller 2 reservation comes up. I enjoy the look of the 2 controllers i mentioned, but I know there are just so many. I have larger hands than most, but smaller controllers don't always bother me. I enjoy the Xbox shape, but I am willing to try anything new. This controller will mainly be for Single Player Games, Gears of War E Day, and COD.

Deskhaus Peak Pro vs Uplift V3 4 leg?

I am slightly leaning the Deskhaus due to the guys convincing YouTube channel, but they don’t have the Alloy in stock, and I’d have to go with Black. The Uplift is a bit pricier, but the industrial color is lovely and similar to the alloy. Are there any notable differences between these 2?

How is new OLED tech coming along for an all in one Work AND gaming monitor?

Basically the title. I’m at my desk anywhere from 8-16 hours a day on weekdays. I work from home, then I game at my desk. I switch PCs with a KVM switch. I work in game dev, so the engine UI is static on my screen a lot, which makes me think I should go MINI LED. I checked out some OLEDs at Best Buy recently though, and wow I am really drawn to them! Any advice? Would a top of the Line MINI LED serve me better than a newer OLED if/until the tech catches up?

Help in search of a multipurpose split keyboard

I’m looking for help finding a split keyboard after I’ve developed RSI at my job (game dev.) I need a number row, and will be using it in game dev, light programming, but also as my main gaming keyboard as well. I’d like to retain most buttons than say a corne, because I play wow and have a ton of binds. I don’t wanna mess with layers for a game like that (hence the number row.) Any advice? I was looking at something like the QK Alice Duo, but it’s out of stock. I was wondering what layouts y’all would recommend. Thanks!

Credit Card ecosystem recs for non-domestic flights.

  • Current cards: (list cards, limits, opening date)
  • Average monthly spend and categories:
  • Open to Business Cards: yes!
  • What's the purpose of your next card?
    • I want to earn points towards international travel OR hotels. I am agnostic as to which, since one will have to be bought with cash either way.
    • Chase Sapphire Preferred/Reserve, Citi Strata Elite/Premier, AMEX Gold+BBP, I was just put off the waitlist for Robinhood Gold
    • Sure
    • Hotels: I am not loyal to any brand.
    • I dont mind repositioning for flights at all to either coast.
    • CITI seems like a winner on paper, but I am very annoyed with them after being burned by their CS on the AA card after it only being a citi card for a month.

How hard to use Chase UR for international out of DFW?

I have a Citi card, but I’d like to get the CSP for the 100k bonus+insane visa travel benefits. Outside of Hyatt, how tough is it to use the UR points to book international from DFW with such a large American presence? I could also redeem for Hyatt I guess at 4:3. Just trying to get a feel for it. Maybe it’s only worth it for the Hyatt/costco/general benefits/insurances?

Chase Sapphire Preferred vs BILT obisidian?

(If there are other more in depth threads for this question, just link it here and i'll delete, but this is moreso in the context of recent changes.)

I am looking for a $95 annual fee card for Southwest/United flights, some international flights, and hotels. Currently just use my Savor. I am curious as to yall's opinion between these 2. I like that Chase has all of these great perks on the CSP but the .75 Hyatt transfer isn't nearly as good as BILT's 1:1 transfer, plus BILT has JAL (I wan to go on a trip to Japan soon.) I could swing for the VX for JAL miles+lounge or the AMEX Gold for ANA, so the JAL miles from BILT aren't as big of a draw maybe.

I am a little lost as to the pros and cons of each of these cards, such as Mastercard vs Visa, customer service, ease of use when it comes to figuring out how the rewards program works and all the shared/different perks of the cards. So I am just looking for some advice.

Best courses/tutorials to learn C# in the context of making games in Unity.

Hey all! I am a dev who has solely used UE 3/4/5 in my time. I am currently looking at picking up either GODOT or Unity, and I feel like learning Unity and C# will overall be more beneficial for me. I am a visual scripter, and I am looking for the best resources for learning C# and Unity in the up to date unity 6.X. Is unity Pathways still top tier? That is one I've started recently. I have also looked at Code Monkey. Thanks!
