Backrooms boardgame

Hi everyone! A while ago we shared the prototype of our co-op Backrooms board game. Since then, we've done several playtests and have started working on the final art and design.

We're really excited to share a boardgame that unravels uniquely each time you play it, making the map/monsters/objectives change each time. A boardgame where you can explore and help each other, but can also betray when necessary :)

The game has changed quite a bit through our playtests, especially the searching, items, entities, and objectives. Here are some photos from our playtests alongside some of the newer designs.

We can share more about how the game works if you're interested

What do you think of the direction so far? Any suggestions for our game?

Backrooms camcorder art sneak peek! Help us design

We previously posted about our backrooms boardgame prototype. Now, we're currently designing the item art for the actual game!

We were aiming to make the artstyle to look like it was sketched and illustrated by someone, to give it some personality. (As opposed to the super realistic clean art of backrooms video games)

Please tell us what you think :)

Backrooms Boardgame

Hi everyone! My friends and I are working on a co-op backrooms boardgame where your goal is to escape. In this game, you can explore and reveal unsettling rooms, encounter creepy entities, search for useful (or useless) items, manage your sanity, and rely on teamwork to make it out alive. The images above are part of our hand drawn prototype for playtesting.

The gameplay is nearing it's final stages, and we're currently working on the art/design of it. We just wanted to hear your opinions on what artstyle would suit this. Should we lean into photorealistic liminal spaces similar to the games/videos/movie, or a stylized board-game interpretation that still feels unsettling?

We'd love to hear your thoughts! If you have any ideas, suggestions, or features you'd like to see in a Backrooms board game, please let us know. :)

Update: we are going to crowdfund this on Gamefound in the coming months! I hope you will all be interested. For now, you could follow us here on reddit or on our ig: https://www.instagram.com/fuzzygamesinc
