More Tank Assassin Shenanigans

Tank Hirara is super fun, practically unkillable with infinite untargettables and still deals more damage than utility roam with just Thrill and Malefic Roar as her attack items. Magic Shoes + Support Emblem + Queens Wings for 40% CDR with Blue Buff, so the rest you can build counter items. The talents are mandatory for fast clearing, although if you’re going against tankier enemies Rupture is an alternative to Thrill. Incredibly good at level 2 ganks or invaded since you get both CDR and speed, letting you engage and disengage with ease while still packing a punch with her combo + Impure Rage. Only problem is CC, but then that’s every assassin’s weakness and can be mitigated by building Tough Boots and Brute Force (takes up an extra slot though so only 2 counter items, by then just build bruiser Hirara with War Axe and Rose Gold). Enjoy!

So, about the Para-RAID

Anime and manga only, with some spoiler knowledge of Volumes 4 and 5

So from what I understand the Para-RAID allows for the instantaneous transfer of sensory information between two parties. However the majority of the mental strain is only applied to one party, and the only upper limit to how many people can be linked at once is sheer willpower. P-RAIDs can only connected if both parties consent and are conscious, otherwise no mental link will be established. All sensory information, from sound to sight to even emotions, can be relayed over P-RAID. Now let’s delve a bit deeper

The P-RAID was originally developed by Dr. Penrose and Dr. Nouzen to artificially recreate the Maika clan’s telepathy, which was found to have manifested in both Rei and Shin at a young age. Due to Shin’s trauma however his ability has been somewhat altered and he can now resonate with the ghosts of the Legion. To what extend he can understand them has not been clarified yet by Asato-Sensei.

Now for the real questions: What exactly is prohibiting the Federacy and the United Kingdom from further developing it to become a Legion hearing machine like Shin? And what exactly is prohibiting them from resonating with an artificial body? Like, could it be possible to project one’s self onto an artificial being like a Sirin or even a Feldreß and remotely control the body through sheer feelings? I feel like it has the potential to be humanity’s greatest weapon against the Legion.

The Duality of Man

Seriously though every Revamp/new release there’s always a big controversy surrounding it. Like, a lot of people are complaining that the hero plays differently now. OF COURSE IT PLAYS DIFFERENTLY THAT’S WHAT A REVAMP IS FOR. When Moonton announces that a hero is gonna be revamped then that hero is as good as gone forever. It’s the players who are willing to adjust to a novel playstyle that are gonna do well with those heroes:

Granger: Burst MM —> Sustained poke MM
Hanzo: Farm Assassin —> Burst Assassin
Leomord: Burst Fighter —> Bruiser Fighter
Zetian: Weak Damage Mage Strong Utility Mage
Alice: Burst Mobile Mage —> Burst Heal Tank
Freya: Stunlock Fighter —> Dive Fighter
Marcel: Useless Ult One of the most annoying Ilts in game
Hirara: Your typical One-Shot Assassin Weaver Assassin
Kaja: Single Target Pickoff —> Fastest Setter

Like, I think the only widely accepted revamps recently were Eudora, Gloo, and Grock.

Also, condolences fellow Masha and Argus mains for having our skillkit revamped like 10 times.

A guide to Sky Piercer

Disclaimer: This guide is built on information I’ve gathered in my Mythic SoloQ experience.

I. When not to build

If you can’t end games within 18 minutes, don’t. If you’re 0/4, don’t. If your ally already has one built, don’t. Sky Piercer only has value at max stacks and when there’s only 1 on the team. Kill steals don’t matter in the end if you win anyway. For example, if you ally Zhuxin already has one at 30 stacks with 5/0/6 KDA, while you’re a Ling with 2/2/8, you’re better off building Malefic Roar instead with more utility.

II. When to build

Build Sky Piercer if you’re confident you can pick off acutely brained enemies, or if you’re confident you can end the game by 18 minutes. Why 18? That’s when Enhanced Lord appears and by then the enemy has already caught up in level and items so your snowball advantage is gone. Breaking turrets and getting objectives is what wins games, not kills. For example, a 19/0/7 Martis’ Sky Piercer won’t be effective against a fully built enemy Lesley even if currently she’s 2/4/2. If you don’t end the game early Sky Piercer has no value

III. How it works

I’m gonna sound like a broken record from here on out but Sky Piercer is a snowball dependent item. You farm kills to get stacks to get more kills to make lane pushing easier. In the end breaking turrets and getting objectives is what wins games, not kills. If you find your Sky Piercer isn’t doing you any good (don’t worry, we all have those days), don’t sell it immediately but gain enough gold for a replacement item -900 gold (selling price of Sky Piercer). For example, on a bad day you have 6/7/9 on Fanny you can prio Sea Halberd and then sell it once you only have around 900 gold left needed to buy it.

IV. How to use it.

Sky Piercer works well on both high burst and DPS heroes. Don’t charge head-on into a clash where your odds of winning are even or bad and instead build up stacks on enemies you know you can kill. For example, if given the choice to gank a 7/0/8 Benedetta for a massive shutdown bounty or a 2/5/1 Miya, pick Miya. Farm stacks by permaganking overextended or singled out opponents. Numbers Advantage Clashes and Divide and Conquer are two strategies that make stack farming easier against more resilient/cautious opponents. Then once at max stacks and confidence you can start hunting down other key players to get a bigger advantage.

Also one bonus tip, don’t just blindly follow top global builds. Understand the different items and how they work, synergize, or conflict with each other, learn how to counterbuild, and what core 3 items work best for you, your hero, and your playstyle. And remember, breaking turrets and getting objectives is what wins games, not kills.

EDIT: Seems like my wording confused quite a few people reading this. What I meant about selling Sky Piercer is that if you start to sense yourself falling off (i.e., the enemy Lesley has started to gain traction and you’ve died thrice to her), you’re better off selling it for a different item. For example Martis, failing against Lesley because his teammates failed to destroy the Nexus, can sell Sky Piercer for Guardian Helmet or Immortality.

“The ghosts of Rubicon still haunt me.” AC: REVENANT

Started over from scratch and finally finished the game once again. I’ve been enjoying noodle but it lacks the defense to go toe to toe with DRB and LLT. So here’s the WLTcrab REVENANT, an AC meant to burst down shielded enemies, surprising them with both c1 and c2 noodle charged attacks every now and then while abusing the girthy Verrill legs kickbox.

For all those remarks complaining about level gaps in these recent posts

Getting a level advantage isn’t simple. You turn into a farming simulator in the early-mid game trying to get kills/assist here and there, or otherwise getting objectives like assisting in turtle/lord, enemy buffs, or pushing lanes. Yes, you may be lucky and your enemies may be dumb, but that doesn’t make it any simpler. In the early game, You have to know by the 2nd minute who in the enemy team and who in your team is dead weight, and who can’t easily be picked off. Even if you do snowball some braindead heroes have their dangerous powerspike at 3 items in the mid-late game, so even if you’re playing confident with a hero it doesn’t guarantee you’ll maintain momentum in the mid-late game. In the mid game you also have to avoid confrontations you know you’ll die in, even if that means sacrificing a teammate or a buff or a tower, just to maintain that level lead. Also, everyone reaches level 15 and full build at some point, but then you should be planning to end the game before the enemy gets here. Especially in the late game one you yourself are at full build, it’s no longer a farming simulator but a game of patience and smarts. Yes, level differences are a huge factor in the outcome of any skirmish, but getting that level lead is a mix of luck and guts. It’s a fundamental part of the game, and if you’re not taking advantage of it, you’re just shooting yourself in the foot. But if you can’t read this long, don’t complain about level leads anyway.

Does this mean that EP1 will be more than 20 minutes?

I’m wondering if we’ll get the Sentenced to be a Hero treatment and get an hour long first episode!

Since y’all enjoyed Ocean Crossing here’s SPEARHEAD at Depth 1

Spent nearly an hour tryna get the timing right. The timing for dodging the lasers is very strict though, and the explosive squids make it a lot harder to concentrate (hence the AA in the beginning to clear them out). Totally didn’t mess up a single dodge in the second half of the fight and take 2k damage as penalty, but man those plasma missiles always hit and mess you up. There’s the very viable strat of using the girders that the elevator goes down as a shield, but that’s not as fun as dodging a stream of lasers >:3

This part of the mission will never not be fun!

Oh the thrill of dancing around the PCA’s lasers in a heavyweight! Everyone’s having fun bullying the bosses tryna get a speedrun but REPLICA and I here are just chillin’ XD. Hopefully Rank reset finishes soon, can’t wait to get back to climbing!

Last Ranked match before season reset

Man, ranking up with original builds is hard… CoralRobo’s been my last resort if I find myself at the brink of demotion, but I find this Halde-Etsu combo really reliable. Haven’t given up on melee though, just taking a break from Brickshear REPLICA MK.II, DemonShear SPEARHEAD, and Windshear TRANSCRIBER with all the laggy rats around… Man I don’t wanna give up the dagger XD

u/G3-WuHuaHai — 3 months ago

Something something DemonShear… Something something VPMs

I have no idea why my controller disconnected at the beginning…

For renowned OsciDagger/DemonShear player Sirchby, just wanted to show how VPMs fare against more aerial targets. I know this “kite” player wan’t playing so well (GGs man if you’re on here, I’ve been playing against a lot of rats lately and you made my day :3), I tried another match and the guy was teleporting like crazy (lag abuser with 100km radius Earshot).

VPMs seem to be inconsistent, I think 3PMs would be the better choice here, but they also have the advantage of hitting enemies behind buildings (if only normal verts were good TwT) unlike the Drones which love ramming into stuff. Gonna try PFAU and splits next.

“I cannot make that decision. Only you can.” AC // REPLICA MK.II

After much tweaking and grinding, I present REPLICA MK.II! A beluga-head quad variant of the first version, I ditched the KRSV for a Xuan-ge and lighter missiles. Boasting over 2.5k stability and PA (AA is chad but this AC takes a lot of hits), it’s hard to stagger this bad boy. On the contrary, a charged Laser Dagger/Lance into Xuan-ge staggers anything that isn’t running the pulse buckler, and both the light Dagger combo and charged Lance deal respectable amounts of direct damage even without Basho arms, so I used the VP46Ds to guarantee the Xuan-ge hits. RSW is a flex slot, I find Duo missiles, VPMs, Laser Drones, and Kranich to be really solid options. Mobility is surprisingly good with strong AB, Dagger sling, and Lance’s charged attack. Just be wary of space-warping (lag teleporting) ACs that’ll bisect this one.

Legion, abide with Rubicon.

FINGERBREAKER met its match against dual Zimm and dual SNA lovers, so I tried something new! Meet AC // KIRSHBLUTE, a dual WLT dual Huxley meavyweight inspired by the 86 pilot on the same name (rip). Can play like a PowerBaka and loves AB kicking the enemy’s face, but can also play like the former S-rank AC ARMAGEDDON at extreme ranges by cycling the stage 2 noodle charges. Double stage 1 charged shots plus Huxleys and a kick are a guaranteed stagger against anyone who doesn’t run a shield, and it’s fast enough to rushdown rats and kites. Plus there’s the not so secret, not so efficient punch combo where you purge one WLT while the other is charging and punch 3 times before landing the fully charged WLT noodle for a fashionable and inefficient finish. Or you can go with the usual double stage 1 charged shots for 6k burst direct damage.

The Coral voices are only getting louder. And so are the Legion’s.

Beholden! My latest atrocity!

Meet AC // FINGERBREAKER, a fast, well-armored AC tailored to countering various meta builds. Enemy uses shields/pulse armor? Bubble guns rip right through them. Enemy has high defenses? Stun guns stat check them. Going against lag tanks? Grounded QBs launch you at 600 kph and have a reload time of just .35s. Lightweight enemy ratting or kiting you? Pulse protection makes some great plays against them. Melee builds? You have the speed advantage. Your AB game is strong, and your defenses are high. Only downsides are low EN Capacity and relatively low stability (still amazing for a lightweight), and disclaimer you may get carpal tunnel syndrome from mashing the stun guns. You could also swap out the bubble guns for Vientos for better neutral stagger and really break your fingers. PvE and PvP tested, haven’t lost with this build… yet…

27 second Juggernaut + No Damage

Made quite a few mistakes and could have switched out the Nebs for LRBs to increase DPS, but who doesn’t love purple clouds of plasma!
