Want to get into the series. What's the best entry point?

I've been wanting to get into the series for quite a while now, especially since Fires of Rubicon came out, but unfortunately I never found the time or energy to do it. I'm in no rush to jump into the latest game, though. I'm actually eager to explore the series before I get to Fires of Rubicon.

Before I do that, what's the best starting point? I've been hearing different answers everywhere I go. Some people say to start with the very first game, others recommend Armored Core 3, and some say to just start with Fires of Rubicon before jumping into older games.

Before anyone asks, I can emulate the older games and have access to the ones that aren't available on modern platforms, so getting hold of them isn't an issue. The problem is figuring out which ones are worth playing and which ones I should skip. From what I understand, the franchise has a few stinkers that aren't really worth the time.

So what would you recommend? What's the best entry point into the series?

Verdict Day - WTF?

I decided to give it a spin. I am coming from PS1 and PS2 era, and recently 6.

I cannot grasp the movement here, i barely finished the first mission without cheesing it and backing all the way out of their range. I got an A rank but i used all my left arm ammo and depleted the right one to under 20%.

What am i missing here? Whats the catch - why is it so hard directly on start?

Problem with textures

Hello! I got the game a few days ago and I've been having some issues with the textures, it's been something intermittent, most of the missions I can play normally but sometimes it happens out of nowhere, how can I solve this?

Here are the specs of my laptop:

OS: Linux Mint 22.2

Processor: Intel core i5-9300

Graphics Card: GTX 1650

Proton experimental

NVIDIA settings:

Performance Mode

Drivers: nvidia-driver-595-open

Im not very versatile with computer stuff, so if im missing something let me know and I'll look it up.
