I’ve had my Rocket R58 V2 since 2020. Zero issues or repairs and still extremely happy with it.

I regularly backflush, replace the group gasket yearly/shower screen as needed, and use Santevia filtered water with an Oscar pouch. Recently upgraded from a Faustino to a Eureka Mignon Libra.

At 6 years old, should I be considering any preventative servicing even though everything is working perfectly?

Also, I’m a traditional Italian single espresso guy: original Rocket 8 g basket, ~25 mL in 25–30 sec. Taste is great, but the puck rarely knocks out cleanly.

Is an IMS single basket actually worth the upgrade? If so, which one for the Rocket portafilter?

I’ve been trying to figure this out for a while and would really appreciate some guidance.

I was born in Canada, and so were both of my parents. However, all four of my grandparents were born in Italy before immigrating to Canada. They became Canadian citizens before my parents were born, so my understanding is that this broke the line for Italian citizenship by descent. As far as I know, none of them ever reacquired Italian citizenship.

Based on those facts, is this truly a dead end, or are there any legal exceptions, court challenges, or other avenues that someone in my situation should explore? Has anyone successfully pursued a similar case with the help of an Italian citizenship lawyer, or is there simply no legal basis once the bloodline has been broken?

If there isn’t a path through ancestry, what would be the most realistic route to eventually obtaining Italian citizenship?

I’d really appreciate any insight from people who’ve been through this or are familiar with Italian citizenship law. Thanks!
