Ultra 2 to Series 12 (Ti)

Ultra 2 to Series 12 (Ti)

I’m a big fan of the Ultra watches but thought I’d try something new. Went in the opposite direction and switched to the 42mm Series 12 in titanium for the dressy look. I have to say that I’m really happy with my decision.

I’ve always wanted to get the Link Bracelet, and it looks beautiful in the Natural Titanium.

So far the battery life has been surprisingly good. I’m currently at 80% battery at 7 pm and it’s been off charge since 7 am. I charge it in the morning while I’m getting ready and it’s fully charged before I leave the house. It’s great having the multi-day battery life on the Ultra, especially when travelling, but this is working for me as a daily driver.

I may go back to the Ultra in the future, but for now I’m really enjoying the aesthetic this combo gives me.

For reference my wrists are around 6.5” diameter.

Weber Unifilter - Linea Micra

Hello all. I’m looking into getting the Weber Worshop Unifilter for my Linea Micra, but I’ve heard that it locks far to the right. I’ve also heard using the OEM orange group gasket allows for a tighter fit although some have had leaking issues.

Has anyone tried this combo and how does it work? If this doesn’t work out then I’m going with the Pullman basket and tamper instead.

Philos + Mini G combo

Hello all, I recently picked up the Mazzer Philos, upgraded from the Eureka Mignon Oro XL and I’m really impressed with the improvement I’m getting in the cup. It’s also just a more premium feeling grinder and I think it looks pretty too.

I’ve been watching videos on the Mazzer Mini G, and I have to say that I’ve been really impressed with what I have seen. It seems to be a solid GBW option with a great workflow when you want to bang out a quick coffee when time is limited.

I’ve been musing over the idea of getting the Mini G as my main grinder for milk based drinks and for when I have guests over and having the Philos for more speciality type, lighter roast coffee for espresso and pour over. Do you think this would make a good combo?

Edit: I just wanted to add that I got the Philos with the I200D burrs.

Personal Item/EDC - S22 vs S26

Hello all. I’m about to purchase my first Tom Bihn to use as an EDC and in combination with a roller suitcase as a personal item. I think I’m leaning a bit more towards the Synik 22 as it’s dimensions are less likely to be an issue with most airlines as a personal item bag. Have any of you travelled with the S26 as a personal item bag? I’m thinking if I don’t overpack it, it would conform to the dimensions of most personal item size limits?

My only concern with the S22 is its ability to hold a 14” MacBook Pro. I know it can fit but access can be quite tight. Mind you, I do alternate between carrying the MacBook and an 11” iPad Pro, which would work better in the S22.

What are your thoughts?
