Pulled the trigger 🙏🏽

Pulled the trigger 🙏🏽

Pairing my Micra with my Casa. Still getting used to the steam wand but so far so good albeit an excessive amount of foam. Would’ve loved the Mini but there isn’t enough space so I settled for a Micra. Have a pesado HD on the way, and i plan to install the shot stopper as well.

Unfortunately I am experiencing some leaking when i pull my shot, even though im locking my PF super tightly.. any advice? What baskets are you guys using?

Help

Hi i need help

My boss said that its to expensive to repair the second steam, and it sort of sits there and leaks steam.

Dose this affect the machine in any way or is it okay to leave this like this.

I was considering flipping the manual switch between the boiler and the steam wand. Will this affect the machine in any way

Its a linea a 3 av from 2013

Thank you in advance ❤️

Thousands later

I vowed to solve shot consistency issues I had with my breville. A linea Mini, Atom W65 and a few tools later and thousands of dollars. Happy to report I think this is solved!

Cabinet for a Linea Micra + Pico setup

Will the Emma Chamberlain Curved Bar Cabinet (28") by West Elm be a good option (28"w x 19"d x 32"h) for an espresso set up (Linea Micra and Pico)?

Shower Screen Removal Tool

Hey Folks,

I was frustrated with the inability to easily (and cheaply) find a shower removal tool that would allow me to more easily and safely remove the shower screen (especially when it's hot). Of course, you don't *need* one (a stubby screwdriver will do the trick), however, if you have a 3D printer, and a spare flathead hex bit, feel free to print this out (or modify it to your liking)

LM strada x1 unable to hold steam power

Hey, to anyone that owns the strada x1. I need some help. I realized that my strada x1 is unable to hold the steam power and after one froth I will need to wait around 30s before I can froth my next milk.

Based on a lm tech:

Typical steam boiler temp behavior:
Idle temp: ~124–126°C
After one milk drink (6–12 oz pitcher): ~121–124°C
After larger pitcher or extended steaming: ~118–122°C
Recovery: Should rebound to set temp within ~15–40 seconds

Struggling to find a cabinet deep enough for a Linea Micra + Pico setup

I recently purchased a La Marzocco Linea Micra (stainless steel) and a La Marzocco Pico (black), and I’m realizing it’s surprisingly difficult to find a cabinet that’s actually deep enough for the setup.

La Marzocco told me, “The Micra only needs about 18.5 inches of depth. To keep from bumping into the portafilter, 22 inches should be plenty of room.”

I originally wanted to stay around a $1400 budget, but at this point I’m willing to go over if I have to while still trying to be somewhat reasonable.

Has anyone here found a cabinet, sideboard, or credenza that works well with a Micra setup? Looking for something:
• Deep enough to comfortably use the portafilter
• Modern or mid-century style
• Good quality without going into ultra luxury pricing
• Ideally around 22"+ deep

Would really appreciate recommendations or photos of your setups.

Will this cabinet work for my espresso setup?? I'm losing my mind

Will the Emma Chamberlain Curved Bar Cabinet (28") by West Elm actually work for my setup (Linea Micra in stainless steel; Pico in black) ?? Need help

I live in a small apartment and I'm already limited to 40" width max so my options are really narrow. Budget is $1,600 and I really can't go over that.

I've been going back and forth on the Emma Chamberlain Curved Bar Cabinet (28") by West Elm — dimensions are 28"W × 19"D × 32"H. Can someone please tell me if my gear would actually fit?

Equipment Height Width Depth Weight
Linea Micra 13" 11.5" 18" 42 lbs
Pico Grinder 15.35" 6.06" 11.22" 17.2 lbs

I think the dimensions technically work but I'm not sure I'm thinking about this right and I really don't want to spend this much money and have it not work out. Any help would mean a lot.

Linea Mini Vs Classica S

Just for context I have owned a Linea Mini for about a year and a half now and love the machine. I also own a coffee business and have been using this machine for my business. I've been thinking about upgrading to a Classic S 2 group. My concern is whether it would be more practical to just buy another Mini instead. I don't know if there is a better advantage using the Classic S and would like to know the pros and cons. I've tried to look at comparisons or detailed videos of the Classic S but I haven't found anything that gave me an answer.

Help me decide on a new grinder [$1k - $1500 USD]

Hey folks, i'm awaiting a Linea Mini and want to upgrade my grinder to get the most out of the coffee and would love your thoughts! My current grinder is a ~6 year old Eureka Mignon Manuale that I use as a single-dose grinder and I'm a bit stuck on which direction to go with my upgrade. I originally saw the Mahlkonig E64 WS and was sold on moving to grind-by-weight, but a ton of research is shying me away from that particular model due to various issues. So I'm now deciding between a dedicated SD grinder or going with GBW. Here's my short list as of now and I'm open to more options!

  • Eureka Atom W 65 (probably non-casa for the metal chassis) - Only GBW i'm considering right now
  • Mazzer Philos - My wife thinks it looks like a meat grinder and doesn't love it
  • Option-O Lagom P80 - Not thrilled with the current lead time
  • Zerno Z1 - Wish it had a brushless motor and the Z2 has a long lead time and over what I am willing to spend

A bit about us - 90% of our coffee consumption is espresso, Americano, and the occasional cortado or latte. We generally drink the same medium-roast coffee, but I occasionally like to try other "premium" beans here and there and maybe decaf for evening enjoyment. That said, it seems going single-dose would be the way, but given that I don't change beans out very often I was thinking i'd only fill the Atom hopper with a couple days worth of beans at a time.

Thanks in advance and looking forward to a discussion and some recommendations/validation!

Built an app that uses extraction science to suggest my grind before I pull, here's my morning workflow [Lelit Bianca, Eureka Mignon]

Been pulling shots on a Lelit Bianca + Eureka Mignon Single Dose for a while and spent the last several months building a tool to replace the guesswork of dialling in.

It’s called Vurr. Instead of AI it uses extraction physics, roast level, humidity, bean freshness, robusta content, extraction time history, taste feedback and more — to give you a grind number before you pull.
The workflow in the video:

Journal — yesterday’s session, what was learned, where to start today

Suggest — photograph the bean bag, Apple Vision reads the label, fill in any fields it couldn’t detect, engine runs and outputs a grind number with a confidence tier

Analytics — sweet spot range, session trends, what’s actually working across your pulls

It launches on the App Store soon. 14 day free trial.

Happy to answer questions about the extraction science behind it, that’s the part I find most interesting to talk about.

Bench Depth for Mini R

Gday all

I'm looking to upgrade to a Mini R, I have plenty of width and height however I'm limited to a depth of 57.5cm (22.6").

Can anyone confirm this depth will suffice?

Travel and Storage

I am getting ready to pack up and move, and my linea mini R will be in storage for about four months. I kept the original packaging and mini pallet that it came on and plan to essentially just put it back in there in prep for the move. In terms of storage, anyone have any advice on how to get the machine ready to sit in a climate controlled warehouse for a few months? I’m planning drain all the water out (ie run the hot water tap until there’s no more water, and run the steam wand until it’s done), and dry the water reservoir … but what else should I do to help prepare? Thanks.
