People like to praise how AI makes you so fast, so efficient, but they also talk about how one becomes good at it by being a senior. We all've heard about how juniors will never be able to become senior developers due to AI impending the formation of their skills, but we never talk about how senior developers are putting a stop to their development by using it too.
We, as developers, are ALWAYS learning something new, we are ALWAYS discovering a new way to build something, it's not like once you become a senior, you hit a plateau of learning, you just keep learning forever. Delegating your work to the machine makes you not only worse at what you know but kills your ability to learn new stuff. Why would someone do that? What's the point?
I'm currently working at a job and we use UI Toolkit for UI. Everything is so much more bureucratic than using Canvas with a proper UI architecture, it is a complete suffering for animations and I passionately hate it.
I'd use it for editor UI only.
Just a thought...Me and my team are working on a rhythm game that was inspired by some music mechanics I made a few years ago and Pistol Whip. We are making something pretty solid but we're afraid of flopping. It's a VR-only title, the mechanics just wouldn't work in PC/Console.

Okay, I just saw a post right now about someone, yet again, praising AI and how it's so revolutionary and whatsoever. This time he was saying that AI is revolutionizing education and he proceeds to show several AI generated videos.
I swear to god I thought it was a joke because these were the most satanic trypophobic videos I've ever seen. You guys've probably seen it: saline solution pouring over the sinuses, but the sinuses have faces and there is booger flying all over the place. Then, it's a dry eye and the eye has a fucking face. At last several little fingers, each one with a face.
Are these people insane? These videos are extremely uncomfortable to watch! Not everything is supposed to have faces.
We have these piss filter chatGPT images and also evidences that, after running out of human data, synthetic data was being used to feed the robot, a proven way to cause model collapse.

Possuo 31 anos e atualmente trabalho como programador de jogos. Sou bom no que faço, tenho um salário satisfatório para o Brasil, mas sinto uma necessidade de nunca mais trabalhar com isto. Não gosto de meu emprego, não gosto de como forçam IA em tudo, o que por consequência diminui a qualidade do produto, não me sinto feliz.
Recentemente passei por um post no instagram e vi uma gravação de um cockpit de uma aeronave, no mesmo momento me lembrei da época em que jogava Flight Simulator, com todas aquelas informações e fui acometido por um desejo muito forte de entender todos aqueles painéis e conhecer tudo aquilo, por que vamos ser sincero, é muito legal.
Comecei então a estudar a possibilidade de fazer um transição de carreira, vale a pena? Será que é só uma "paixonite" que estou tendo e vou acabar desanimando? Estou velho demais para isso? Emocionado demais para isso? Acredito que eu possua a capacidade para adquirir todas as carteiras caso me dedique a isto, mas a que custo? E se investir 150, 200 mil para adquirir as habilitações e não conseguir um emprego? Gostaria de ouvir a opinião de quem é da área.
