The Next Stage of Skepticism / Rationalism: Beyond Belief and Disbelief
For skeptics, there is another step beyond simply rejecting religious claims.
The deeper challenge is to question attachment to thought itself: to beliefs, identities and even the sense of self. Nondual practice and Carl Jung's individuation process both invite this kind of inquiry.
Many rationalists spend their lives examining concepts, arguments and evidence, yet rarely explore the nature of awareness/ consciousness in which those thoughts arise. If you already stepped outside the religious circus tent, why stop there? Use that freedom to investigate your own mind. The greatest illusion may not be religion, but the unquestioned belief that 'you are your thoughts'.
