Loose paddle help - should the nub on the release be sitting flush with where it interfaces on the catch?

I did due diligence on this one I promise-

This is my best guess as to what could be happening. Same issue with mags inserted.

My initial thought/question- does mag catch portion need to be rotated slightly so it's touching/keeps slight tension on the release?

Please let me know if you have any other thoughts, suggestions, or advice. Thanks in advance

Preface: This seems to be somewhat of a controversial take. But personally speaking, I'm not willing to put all my chips on Pmags outliving steel/aluminum in long term storage.

Don't get me wrong, pmags are fucking awesome, and all I train with. But there is a school of thought that says that the polymer may become brittle over time, but we're talking possibly multiple semi-centennial time frames.

This probably won't be an issue for me. But I want to make sure whoever inherits my stuff down the line has working mags for the guns.

Centurion explicitly states that it DOES fit the other way around (MK11 upper on LMT lower).

So my caveman brain thinks it would just have to work the other way around. I have just not seen any builds that confirm this, or read anyone who can for sure confirm it.

Thanks in advance, and sorry, I know this question is annoying a hell.

Point of clarification before I get chewed out- I do already a centurion upper as well. I want to see if I would be able to run an LMT in the future or if I need to buy one before VA AWB :(
