Hi guys! So, I noticed an unpleasant noise coming from the CD drive and managed to find the problem.
At first, I thought it was the large white gear that moves the laser, so I replaced it with a new one. But it turns out the problem is actually the small black gear. When the laser assembly moves with a bit of force, the teeth slip.
I guess after all these years the mechanism has simply worn out.
So, my question is: does anyone know where I could get this small gear, or has anyone come across this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The main series is complete! Now it’s time to start collecting the DOA Xtreme series.
So far, I’ve only got the first few: Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball (Xbox OG) and Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 (Xbox 360). Two more games are already on their way to me DOA Paradise and DOA Xtreme Fortune (PS4).
Captain, full speed ahead! 🚢
The main DOA series is almost complete I only need to add DOA 6.
After that, I can start collecting the Xtreme series.
How I came to this point is simple: I just got tired of the tasteless and unattractive characters in video games. When you turn on DOA, the beauty and aesthetics bring a feeling of peace and admiration. DOA will always have a special place in my heart.
There’s usually not much material archived for the 3DO, so I think every piece of documentation has its own value.

I’ve had this idea in my head for a while now to bring back all the consoles that once brought me so much joy.
The 3DO is definitely one of them. Back in the ’90s, I genuinely fought for it and defended it to the very end. Of course, the PS1 eventually replaced it, but for some reason it never gave me quite the same feeling. The 3DO always won on an emotional level.
I had the FZ-10 back then, but this time I decided to go for the FZ-1 and honestly, it’s an absolute beauty. It looks like something straight out of a ’90s photoshoot.
I’ve already recapped it and now I’m just waiting for the Crown Arcade ODE. It’s finally taken its rightful place in my modest collection.
