But two shots at the same time. Not ideal conditions, at all, but the s21 takes what I think is great for the situation of shaded spot through a window. And the s23 ultra looks like my OG Galaxy S.

I literally have to tap my S21 pretty hard to get the lens to focus, and it still pulls ahead...

Bought S21 Ultra from best buy, s23 from back market. I cant imagine that has anything to do with it, but can cameras be swapped?

Settings I could change? Such a bummer to get the storage I wanted in exchange for a usable camera.

Thanks for any ideas.

Anyone ever make a custom camera profile/ ICC profile? C1 doesn't seem to have any interest in effectively supporting compressed DNG's.

I have explored DNG's as an option for RAW backup compression. Results with lossy compression have been overall incredible. Files that are 1/8th the size with no noticeable change until like 300-400% zoom. All while bending and flexing them beyond what I would normally even need (i.e they look identical even with 2-3 stops of exposure change and both extreme ends of the kelvin scale).

Sadly, even though they are 95+% identical, when using the Adobe suite, they clearly have an improper translation, in C1. I talked to support a couple times and they have said there are zero plans to solve it, from them.

So I am wondering if this is something we can remedy ourselves. I am cozy with more advanced color work. But super advanced stuff like custom ICC profiles is way over my head, and doesnt appear plausible for me to learn.

With Rawsie dead, and storage prices through the roof, would be amazing if we could squish our catalogs without losing quality or having to touch anything Adobe.

Thanks for your input!

EDIT: Here is a goofy lil' hacky workaround: I tried DXO PureRaw's new High Fidelity compression. Slashed file size down to about 30% while looking identical. For fun I put THAT compressed DNG through adobe DNG converter. That file was about 15% the original's size and ALSO looks virtually identical. Huh... So cut a Sony ARW down from 35MB down to 5.

What are your essential non-essential tools in a field kit?

I'm only on my first year of LF but have already loved some of the additions I've made to my kit beyond camera, lens and film.

So far, highlights for me include the ultra compact chair pictured and a tripod rock bag I use as a shelf for meter, loupe, etc. Both really help me feel less like a rickety ol man.

I'd love to know if you have something random in your kit that you are glad you added!
