Finally finished the interior painting.

Getting ready to build a platform for next summer so I've been in the process of painting the pillars and certain panels black, to help keep it dark with the window covers I'll be purchasing. Finally got to the rear pieces last week and the tailgate trim as well. Just did everything above the center line, as the platform and drawers will essentially be covering the entire bottom half. Did the button panels and speakers a while back but I like how it contrasts with the grays. All of it is just Plasti-Dip. The whole front of the vehicle was done about a year and a half ago when I first got it (A pillars, lower kick panels and full B pillars, with all the bottom door sill trim as well), I've done a few touchups but for the most part it's really held up, through multiple camping trips and using it for work everyday.

There would also be zero benefit to doing the bottom portions as my Aussies would just scratch it to all hell when they get excited. I know this won't be some people's cup of tea but I'm happy with how it turned out.

Camp naps are the best naps.

Got here and set up at Appleton Lake in Brighton, MI and took these two for a walk after everything was in order. It took them both about 3 minutes flat to pass out once we got back to our spot. What a life.😂

Edit: This spot is absolutely huge! Girls have plenty of room to run around and lay where they want. Going to the lake tomorrow morning!

First Gen Sequoia Spoiler Rough Measurements and Install Tips

Alright guys, I originally helped someone out with some pictures, then commented that if anyone needed them to DM me... I got probably 10–12 DMs and am still getting 1 or 2 per day. So I decided to just post them here. Let me start by saying I did NOT take these pictures. Someone randomly sent them to me on Facebook and I cannot find the conversation. So I'm not taking credit for the pics—whoever took them and sent them to me, YOU'RE THE REAL MVP, we all thank you. Also included are pictures from my install. They will help get the angle down and kind of show where everything sits. Just went outside and got some after measurements as well. Here are the tips I have:

Drilling: You will be drilling 5 holes total on the upper tailgate: upper and lower for each of the spoiler legs, and on the left side, a bigger hole between the two bolts to feed the 3rd brake light connection through. Don't forget that after you drill, rough sand the holes and spray some primer to prevent rust. Silicone around the legs of the spoiler to keep water out once it's bolted down. Since the SR5s didn't come with one unless it was an added option, the seal isn't quite the same since we're all using old spoilers from eBay where the foam is mostly corroded off. You can see where I did it in one of the pics.

Measuring & Marking: When you're measuring, lining up, and marking, throw like a 6"x6" square of blue painter's tape down on either side in the general area where each leg will sit. This will allow you to grab a Sharpie, make your marks on there, and jot down numbers without having to mark your truck up. If you make it a few pieces thick, you can test spot the spoiler, and when you get it where you want it, push down on top of the spoiler so the bolt ends indent the tape—and boom. The tape allows you to continuously move the spoiler and mark the edges. It gets real tedious if you don't have someone helping, but it's possible. I had help at the very end lining it up. The spoiler has a slight natural curve, so that actually helps you figure out where you're going to place it.

Wiring the 3rd Brake Light: When you do the 3rd brake light, cut the pigtail off your old one and splice each wire (there are 2) into the wires of the pigtail that came with the spoiler. I don't remember the colors or which wires match up, but I just put a piece of wood between my brake pedal and seat (so the brake pedal would stay pressed down), then touched the wires together until it lit up. 50/50 shot you get it right the first try. If not, reverse the wires and it should light up. Or just use a multimeter. Then, make sure you use some heat shrink on those spliced connections because you do not want those coming undone.

Hardware & Protection: You will need four (4) M6-1.0 nuts to secure the spoiler legs down, but buy 5 because it'll be good to have an extra if one gets misplaced. What I didn't do—but probably recommend—is to put a grommet where the brake line feeds through the middle hole on the left. That way, if the drilled hole is a little jagged, it can't shear the insulation on the wire.

People who have done this, if I forgot anything, let me know! I do all the work on the truck myself and I am by no means an expert on this; I'm just sharing what worked for me. Mine has been on about 10 months with no issues, looks the same, and the silicone is still holding up. The hardest part of the install is drilling through something perfect like the tailgate. Just be confident, and remember to drill a little bit high if you aren't sure. This way, you can bore down the hole with the bit to get it straight. If you start too low and try to bore out the hole higher, it will work, but it will have the future potential to slide down to where the bottom of the hole actually is, if that makes sense. Just trying to think of everything! I'm totally okay with messages and questions, I just figured this might be a good thing to have for people to search. Hope it helps!

Still cleans up nice.

19 years old and almost 241k but I can't tell. Got the OEM LCA's, LBJ's and outer tie rods in, new OEM steering rack installed, all fluids drained and filled, throwing a set of PowerStop pads and rotors on next week and then I can finally get the lift on. This truck is slowly getting back to how it should be. Just a slow process because I do all the work myself at a buddy's house who has a lift, so our schedules don't always align.

Also cleaned the MAF and throttle body the other day, throttle body was absolutely gross. Completely solved my mid-acceleration issues and also lessened the sulfur smell when I accelerate hard. Timing belt and water pump coming up at 275k. Here's to another 100k!

Ms. Hollie's happy place!

Anything water/snow related, she's in there. Going up to Rifle River Rec Area Wednesday and there's a beautiful lake there, can't wait to see her jump in and swim! Lucy will get in but she doesn't get as excited as Hollie does.😂
