I am posting this here just in case people are pulling their hair out. Zorin when using Wayland and you have trouble with copy and paste especially from terminal programs such as opencode or any of the AI CLi. This most likely can be resolved by installing wl-clipboard using apt.

Zorin OS so far I noticed 2 strange things when installing fresh

#1 swap file is either not active or it is tinny at 2 gb

#2 is this copy and paste issue with Wayland.

Both issues can be resolved pretty easily but it took a while and a bit of research.

So after a painful experience, I found that kernel 7.0 from Zorin (basically it is a reskin of ubuntu 26 lts I think, so I think my question you guys can def answer) does not play well with llama cpp. It somehow required more ram distribution that my laptop cannot handle. I had confirmed this after a painful experience of basically trashing my system and unable to boot after thinking it was an Nvidia driver problem.

I had now restored my system by doing a fresh install (it was so broken, that it was easier to nuke it all). I also confirmed that llama cpp was able to load the Qwen 3.6 model on my 8 gb of VRAM + 16 gb of system ram, it barely fit, but it run pretty ok at 25 to 30 tokens / sec on Kernel 6.17 (older kernel) which is now my default boot order in GRUB.

Now how do I lock down the system update of the kernel and the nvidia driver? as I learned those 2 are deeply connected. Ideally I would like the update the rest of the system except for those. I know I am using zorin which I posted on there as well but ubuntu and zorin are basically the same, so the cmd should be similar.

I need a bit of advance help. Recently my laptop got mess up due to newer kernel 7 and Nvidia causing issue with llama cpp. After trying older driver which didn't help. I tried the latest 595 driver which totally lockup my system couldn't boot.

I manage to get the laptop working by booting into the older kernel 6. However, what can I do presently to restore the kernel 7 and wipe out the new nvidia driver 595 and install something more appropriate?

Or can I purge the new Nvidia driver from the kernel 6 version?

However I also have a feeling that maybe I should remain on Kernel 6 but what is the downside of that beside tons of security recently. Regardless of which I would like to have kernel 7 working again so I could mess with the kernel 6.

I am very happy with the present NVIDIA driver and package. I installed zorin over 1 month ago since then the software update has popped a few times and each time there are updates to NVIDIA driver and package as well as others update to system.

Is there a way to disable just the NVIDIA update from the auto check part? I learned that NVIDIA once you are happy unless it is broken do not update.

On windows for questionable apps I used sandboxie (it was able to isolate and also make a persistent environment for each app). On linux the most that I saw is firejail but it does not seem to be persistent from one session to the next. Anything you guys suggest that is closer to sandboxie for windows?

I set auto compaction at 10000 context. I run Qwen 3.6 locally with llama cpp server with preserve thinking and can verify that it will go to 92000 context window before giving up (llama cpp doesn't seem to count thinking into the 92000) as I have a small machine, more so for learning.

However opencode even with global json define auto context reserved at 10000 however at around 58000 context I get auto compacted. I can't figure out why, I disabled it for now and was able to confirm that I can go to 92000 context before my server dies.

Many years ago must have been around 7 to 8 years, I created a website and submitted to Google search console. I still have the Google site Txt DNS record on my cloudflare from that time. However I don't remember which Google account I submit that from, I check all the account but that all lead to the same webpage that seems to want me to submit a new site.

1. How do I figure out which google account I submitted my website for search from long ago, which gave me that DNS Txt record. Or does it really mater?

2. Now after 8 years I had rebuilt the site and made significant improvement, although I would say most of the page address has stayed the same. Although this site now has much improved speed and SEO. How do I resubmitted the site to google and such? and does it has to be from the same account as before?

First I know a bit about HTML and CSS just enough to change some basic code. Not enough to read the code base.

I am also building a Static Astro site and coding using Gemma 4 with ollama and Claude code. Connected it to the MCP astro doc

My question is if the site looks good and performs well on Google metric/SEO is that enough? I mean it is a static site so even if Claude code screws up some codes it is not like it is a security risk.

Is there something that I am missing? Obviously if someone can read and understand the coding it would be better, but even now I pay some dude $500 I feel he may do pretty much the same or even less as likely that developer doesn't care enough to even look at the code base.

I managed to get LLama Turbo Quant version from Tomtom to work I used the following command

it works great I get full context size, and run at 20 token per sec on Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 155H NVidia 4070 labtop with 16 GB of ram.

I open localhost:8080 no issue chatting away works fine.

However when I try to tied it to anything such as claude code or even VS code llama extension. It seems to work, the server is received the signal but never produce an answer.

can anyone tell me why the llama cpp seems to work but when it tied to something else it will not produce an answer?

Hello guys I have a simple 6 pages website nothing fancy created with elementor free version and oceanwp. I used simply static free to convert it and the zip file is 42 mb. I plan to use cloudflare page host which I think limit you to a 25 mb files. I noticed in the zip file, the elementor plugin takes up a lot of spaces. How can I trim the fat. Obviously for a static page elementor is not really needed.

Edit: Thank you all it seems that I missed understood. The zip can be 42 mb uploaded without issues, the site is faster by a hair as I optimized the WP really well already. However this still beat it and now no more worries about security.
