Concerned that getting this model with the infotainment will mean I am going to hit a point beyond 5 year warranty where I’ll have an infotainment I cannot replace.

Subaru would charge a fortune after the warranty period for the same factory unit and there are no after market options.

Surely this will affect resale and the amount of times people have brought this up.

Will it be looked at as the Forester to avoid?

The first 12 pages are at times a complex read about financial payments. They are worth reading line by line to see the lengths they went to in order to coordinate financial transactions for sex trafficking from Black and Epstein by Epstein’s accountant Richard Kahn

Others details in the letter include organised efforts to traffic, surveil, hush sex trafficking victims:

• Leon Black and Russian model Guzel Gazieva who signed a 2015 NDA where Black agreed to pay $100k a month for 15 years
• Epstein emailing a Russian intelligence agent that a woman from Moscow was attempting to blackmail a group of businessmen and that it was “bad for business, bad for everyone involved”.
• Evidence of Epstein regularly meeting with Russian officials and on the same day or close meeting with Leon Black. Suggestions of doing this to surveil and silence victims in the sex trafficking scheme

• Coordinating with Paul Weiss Chairman Brad Karp and other lawyers to surveil on young women on Leon Black’s behalf. Then giving exact details of whereabouts, car, location, and licence plate numbers

Various other incriminating points:

• Emails using Epstein as a middle man to make payments for women
• Millions in payments made to Epstein women as disguised as gifts
• Open emails with Leon Black, Epstein and Richard Kahn about how they were trying to hide the payments/conceal Leon’s name and make them donations that he could use to reduce his tax (tax fraud)

Unbelievably on page 19 of the letter, Leon Black in 2023 paid $62.5 million as part of a settlement agreement he signed with the government of the US Virgin Islands in order to avoid prosecution for any matters related to Jeffrey Epstein. This settlement also provided immunity to his attorneys and other agents. How more guilty of the crimes can you possibly be you terrible person?

The article quotes that as part of the current lawsuit, Black is accused of the following:

I have never felt as low as I have from a politician losing his seat than I have with what happened to Massie in the Kentucky Primary a few days ago. A Kentucky Primary becoming the most expensive in history with interference from Israeli lobbyists/the Epstein social circle. The amount of work Massie put into getting the Epstein files released to the public along with Ro Khanna is astounding and has cemented his legacy in the years ahead

This cover up spanned decades and the work he put in to get a bi partisan vote to get them released is second to none

He co-authored the bipartisan Epstein Files Transparency Act with Ro Khanna and helped push it through Congress.

It’s LAW and requires the U.S. Department of Justice to publicly release Epstein related records in searchable form, limit redactions mainly for victim protection and classified material, and report withheld documents to Congress. Being law means the next attorney general (AG) can prosecute if this AG fails (Todd Blanche - who is Trumps personal lawyer so by design he corruptly will fail), it will outlive Congress, it will ensure protection of the materials/they are not destroyed and forces eventual transparency when a corrupt FBI/DOJ are no longer puppets to Trump and/or Republicans lose majority in the mid term elections to force real investigations by Congress and the Senate and not be blocked.

Massie also used discharge petitions, hearings, and public pressure to force votes and challenge DOJ redactions afterward.

The world and people who know right from wrong owe Massie huge gratitude otherwise this would have never been known. We as a reddit sub need a way for these posts and other critical posts (on others who are blatantly evil and co-conspirators with Epstein such as Leon Black, Les Wexner, Jes Staley amongst others) are front and centre for late comers to the sub and so people don’t forget!

Everything is pointing to mid terms changing everything and democrats taking control and pursuing serious investigations and justice.

The oversight committee are seemingly building up to that point as they are constantly posting about the Epstein files - Ro Khanna, Robert Garcia, Melanie Stansbury, Maxwell Frost, Yassamin Ansari, James Walkinshaw amongst others are constantly covering developments (I urge people to follow them on instagram and make it known you are urging them to keep up their good work).

Does anyone have experience swapping out their 2024 Forester infotainment/head unit?

In Australia the 2.5x Forester was a special edition with the Alpine iLX-507A installed (second photo). It’s a smaller screen (7 inch) but performs better and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is wireless. I’d be keen for something highly reputable but a bigger screen (8-9 inch or above) that takes up most of the void and not leave a spot for storage (eg second photo).

1. Are there better options than the Alpine model listed that people have real experience with? Interesting Subaru used this one as it doesn’t look like a huge upgrade on the stock one although it has performance benefits.
2. Will swapping out the factory infotainment affect reverse camera or other features? Or possibly the warranty? I guess it will only affect the infotainment warranty and related wires etc if installed poorly?
3. I asked out of curiosity how much the factory infotainment costs - Subaru said $6000! I couldn’t believe it. What do people plan on doing down the line when inevitably it stops working well or gets bad scratches etc?

On the last point, after some research I’ve bought a Protech Screen protector and it’s on its way. Going to see how that applies as a “cheap” interim option. Still like to know what people think (I am OCD with the screens and would hate bad scratches but surely surface ones are inevitable…hence why I got the screen protector for now).

Australian here - I am a long time Subaru owner.

Ive always had a Subaru. From a 2007 Liberty, to 2012 Impreza to 2016 & 2018 XV to 2023 Crosstrek and now 2024 Forester. I basically got my parents to buy a 2020 XV and 2019 Forester, converting them from rivals.

I love the brand, the reliability, safety and quirks that make Subaru.

As my young family grow I’ve moved up the segments from hatchback, sedan, small SUV to now medium SUV (our recent 24 Forester - which is capable and easy to live with).

We will probably get a second medium or large SUV soon and keep what we get for the long term.

The thing is, the current lineups are flawed.

Australian prices (see attached photos)

• The 2025/26 Forester - I’d probably go hybrid at this point and Hybrid base starts at $46,990 and just dropped from $52,990. It then jumps to $62,990 for the Hybrid Sport. My issue is the large infotainment isn’t up to scratch for a current year car at this price point. I’ve had it in my 2023 Crosstrek and it was old then and it annoyed me they retained it for a 2025 car having been on the Outback since 2020. Also at that price there is no leather interior which I see in all the Chinese SUVs and other competitors who also offer better hybrids or EV’s. It’s not just the leather, generally the value, design and interior is underwhelming…no digital clusters or anything great/inventive with storage and the wireless charger doesn’t even work. No power seats or power tailgate at the Hybrid entry (you need to go up to $62,000 for the hybrid sport). Therefore although the Hybrid base at $46,990 is better than the original price $52,990 (probably reduced due to poor sales) there’s nothing particularly amazing about it or the Forester in general and its redesign…it’s just solid without being outstanding and not much of an improvement (maybe even worse) than my current 2024 Forester. The dealer also said a new electric motor would cost $20,000 Australian dollars in 10 years! So I buy one for $46,990 now, in 10 years it’s probably worth $18,000 and I need to spend $20,000 for a new electric motor?

• The 2026 Outback - starts at $55,604. At that price you get no hybrid (it’s not offered at all - crazy when Subaru knew how much the market had moved with hybrids and electrics) and not even a 360 degree camera! You have to go up to the premium at $60,000 for the Panoramic camera which I do like a lot having owned the 2023 Crosstrek previously. Surely a car at that price point needs it as standard. Even the cheaper Forester does! The exterior I like some days and colours and other times I feel it’s trying too hard and will look super dated/tacky in a few years. The darker colours seem to work better as they blend in with the overdone cladding. Again, $60,000 for the petrol Outback premium is a tonne and comes with its issues (although the interior is great). The Wilderness starts around $67,000 but the general family don’t need to pay all that extra for turbo and added off road capability.

• 2026 Trailseeker - starts at a whopping $75,000 for full EV. Too much when the general Australian family want to spend $50,000 absolutely max on a new car and BYD Sealion 6 (hybrid) goes for $46,000 or Sealion 7 (EV) $52,000. The Trailseekers futuristic looks give it a premium edge and are growing on me and the interior looks great but I’d hate to be an early adopter and fork out $75,000 on one when the BYD competition is $22,000 cheaper!!

So what I’m getting at is for the first time I genuinely don’t know what model is ideal for a growing family. All have their glaring flaws and they are made worse by the Chinese competition. I don’t want to buy Chinese and this post isn’t entirely about that but it has to be said that the competition is miles cheaper and more equipped.

Forester is dated inside (infotainment, wireless charger doesn’t work, no powered seats or tailgates or digital clusters unless you go way up the range).

Outback design is great inside but polarising on the exterior. Starting at $55,000 with no 360 degree camera (which is a big deal when parking such a big car) and no hybrid.

Trailseeker finally moves the dial into the future with tech and design but starts at a whopping $75,000

Very interested if my views are on point or way off. Or if I missed anything or if any other Subaru loyalists are feeling these thoughts. I love this brand but this generation has me looking the other way for the first time in 20 years
