What do design engineers mean when they do hand calcs?
Not an engineer yet, but genuinely curious as to how engineers use hand calcs in a design.
For example, say you need a carbon steel shaft that can withstand a tensile load of x with a factor of safety of y, do you quite literally just use the equations learned from uni and come up with the size?
I would love to know more real world examples.
How do I coil this wire in SW?
The cable has to fit inside an enclosure where I have to coil it to fit and I want to show that in my model. How do I go about editing this?
What are these switches called and where can I source them?
How to setup simulation for a drone motor arm to verify whether it will not fail after multiple flights using realistic flight load cases?
reddit.comHow do you go about making cutouts for a case?
I tried to model the case in the context of an assembly and tried to make cutouts by converting entities of the port housings into the walls of the case. Is there a proper way to do this? The case is split in half, a single part file, and divided into two separate bodies (top and bottom).
Hole wizard modeled the M3 bolt dia to 2.5 tap drill dia, should I change this hole to 3mm during simulation?
