Momcozy bottle washer has a bad smell under water tank

I have been using my momcozy bottle washer for just one week and I already notice a very unpleasant smell coming from under the water tank, where I think the filter is.

I’m surprised that the smell would be this bad after just one week. What could be going on? I feel like completely taking part the machine and cleaning it every week can’t be the expectation. Has this happened to anyone else? I try to rinse out the bottles before cleaning them, but sometimes I don’t.

Just found out my doctor will be on vacation the week of my due date and reconsidering VBAC.

My due date is August 1st and my doctor will be away July 28th to August 5th. So right in the middle when I am most likely to go into labor. I am so conflicted now. Maybe this is a sign to just schedule a c section. He told me today that a scheduled c section would likely be on the 25th or 26th. When I’m right at 39 weeks.

He doesn’t like to induce for VBACs, so it doesn’t sound like that is an option and I would really rather not induce as well. I’ve also been dealing with some borderline hypertension, so he doesn’t want me to go much past my due date, so waiting for him to return on the 5th also doesn’t sound like an option either.

For my first, labor started at 40 weeks 4 days, so I have a history of going past my due date. That resulted in an emergency c section due to fetal distress. It ended up that the cord was wrapped around his neck. I also had postpartum preeclampsia.

One more element is that I’m 18 month postpartum. So right on the borderline of what’s recommended.

I was ideally hoping to go into labor naturally on the 28th - 1st. But now that would mean getting a random doctor at the hospital who may or may not have much VBAC experience. I’m also worried about getting postpartum preeclampsia again if I go past 40 weeks.

What would you do in my situation?

Looking for success stories from moms who had gestational hypertension.

I was just diagnosed with gestational hypertension last week at 32 weeks. I’m 33 weeks now. I was prescribed labetalol, and my blood pressure has been well controlled since starting the medication. I had an appointment yesterday, and my doctor told me that he is still willing to consider the VBAC if everything continues to go well over the next few weeks.

I will be only 18 months postpartum from my emergency c section when I deliver. My c section was due to fetal distress. His heart rate kept dropping, and it was found that the cord was wrapped around his neck. I made it to 9cm. My blood pressure was very high during labor and I ended up with postpartum preeclampsia.

Did anyone else have gestational hypertension and a successful VBAC? Possibly also with a smaller window between deliveries and history of preeclampsia.

Does it realistically look like I have a good chance?

Is there any site offering the Eufy S2 through insurance?

I am 33 weeks pregnant with my second and looking into getting a wearable through insurance. I was going to get a Eufy S1, but I see that the S2 just came out and the massage feature sounds nice. Does anyone know if it’s possible yet to get it through insurance, even if it’s an upgrade?

I exclusively pumped for my first baby and I used a Spectra gold. I’m looking forward to the freedom of a wearable this time around.

Ultrasound to test scar tissue

My OB does a 36 week ultrasound to test the thickness of the scar tissue. That is what he uses to determine if you are a candidate for VBAC. Does anyone have experience with this? It seems like many OBGYNs don’t take this step at all.

I will be only 18 months postpartum when I’m due. I’m grateful he is willing to attempt the VBAC given the length of time between my pregnancies. He believes that the results of this ultrasound matter more than a long time between births.

What are your thoughts? I want a safe and healthy delivery, and I want to make the right choice. I’m really wanting to avoid another c section. First c section was due to fetal distress. I labored for 26 hours and made it to 9 centimeters.

Help me settle on Esme for my daughter

Esme is the only name my husband and I both love and we can’t find another that can top it. Even so, I’m having a hard time fully committing to it. My biggest concern is people mispronouncing it as es-me instead of ez-may, and just generally getting strange reactions to the name. I want her to feel like she has a normal name, even if it is somewhat uncommon, and I don’t want her to have to correct people her whole life.

I was happy to see that it jumped like 40 points to 298 in the recent SSA name data drop. That says to me that it is becoming more popular and common in the US.

My son’s name is August and I love it so much. It instantly clicked for us and has been perfect for him from the start.

Her middle name will be Sage. So Esme Sage.

Some other names that my husband loves are Athena and Emilia.

Other names that I love and Azalea, Irene, and Isabelle.

I came across the name Izel for a girl and I really like it. Looking it up, it appears to be mainly Mexican and has roots in the Aztec language. Although it says that it is also a Turkish name and may be British as well. The baby will be 25% Peruvian and 75% European (French/Spanish/Polish). So she doesn’t have Mexican heritage. Would that be strange?

I know it’s a very unusual name, but I really love the sound and way it’s spelled. It also has a nice meaning, “unique” or “only one”.

The other name we are considering and the front runner currently is Esme.

What are your thoughts?
