My indie dog - 10 year old - around 12 kg - male, unneutered (we couldn't afford private ones, govt ones are too far away, new govt rules)
So, around 5 years ago, he gee small nodules on his body that was under the skin, no irritation or pain, it was just there. I took him to doc and they initially gave him some deworming medicines and then said, it's normal in aged dogs and no need to worry.
Around 2 years ago, his left hind limb started getting swelled - light swelling - no pain, he's still running around.
We took him to doc again (another one this time) and they said he has kidney issues, and gave him furosemide. The swelling came down, but they never said why it was happening, and told us to continue this in an order of 3 days- break- 3 days.
But I also noticed, the swelling was reducing when we gave him chicken legs, so I started giving him that (thought it might be his joints).
Swelling started increasing and was starting to cover more area so we took him to govt hospital. We did multiple tests, and blood work done (no kidney issues, but positive for Ehrlichia, have 28 day antibiotic course. Swelling didn't reduce, so took him to a far away private vet and they diagnosed him with lymphedema.
Gave a spray (for inflammation) and asked us to massage it and another tab with prednisolone. Now the swelling is again increasing, his leg is red and warm to touch.
Is there any cure for this ? I don't want him to suffer. Has someone's dog been diagnosed with same condition?
Tldr: Dog with lymphedema, increased swelling, redness. Any cure ?
