game suddenly went pitch black???

I slept to play at night and my game went this dark. I fixed it after joining a co-op session but it was definitely freaky. The first and third images are what my game looked like and the images after show what they were supposed to be like.

A few weeks without meds, my experience

I went on holiday for a few weeks and stupidly, I forgot my meds (methylphenidate). For reference, I've been medicated for over a year now. I only want to tell people my experience without the meds

(First couple days) Holy shit. the first few days were diabolical. The first things I quickly noticed was the fact that I couldn't focus, I had little to no motivation and I was STARVING. I was so hungry all the time. It obviously didn't help that I was abroad and was surrounded by so much food.

(Impulsiveness) This brings me on to the next issue, my impulsiveness. I was looking for quick fixes of dopamine and I bought so many things that I didnt need such as food, clothes etc. I quickly regretted it after. It was fascinating knowing how much the meds actually helped me, although I do think that what I was going through was amplified after suddenly stopping the meds.

(Random motivation loss?) There was another weird thing that kept happening and that was how I'd feel motivated to do something but then the next second i wouldn't. This happened quite a few times and was annoying. As I was away for a few weeks, I was getting used to my behaviour and it didn't feel as bad anymore.

(Increased energy) But, there was one behaviour that I didn't miss whilst being on medication and that was my energy/erratic behavior. This also links to my impulsiveness. I really couldn't stop moving. I was out all day and speaking my mind constantly, without thinking. I'm pretty sure I offended some people, obviously accidentally.

Anyway I'm back home, and back to being medicated and I feel so much better.

I've restarted a few times now but I've finally settled in. I havent done much except kill, loot and buy basic stuff. I know nothing about the game and have barely moved out of the surrounding area. Any tips on where to progress would be appreciated.
