Why is Trixie seen as lazy?

Trixie is commonly depicted in fanworks as being pretty lazy, however in the actual show the only action from her which could be described as lazy is her falling asleep while trying to teach a history class (which is not really laziness, more like boredom towards a subject she doesn't care about)

In the rest of the show she's consistently shown to actually work pretty hard when it comes to the things she cares about, like her shows, her magic lessons with Starlight or even just doing nice things for her friends (like in Uncommon Bond and Student Counsel)

In the initial animatic of To Where and Back Again, the scene where Trixie sacrifices herself was longer and included her using the handkerchief rope to pull down a pillar and block the tunnel's entrance, justifying a bit more why the ambush didn't just follow Star and Thorax into the other tunnel

The parallels between Starlight and Chrysalis

Starlight and Chrysalis have a lot of parallels with eachother: they both were in charge of a group of individuals and they treated their ideologies as what's best for them but with an underliying motivation of simply wanting to hold onto a form of power to feel secure, and subsequently they both get obsessed with getting revenge on the pony who brought that away from them, but their difference stands in the fact that Starlight, deep down, was a broken person who made a lot of bad choices, and once she recognizes that her view of friendship was wrong she decides to actually try and start anew; Chrysalis, even after literally getting blasted in the face by the living proof that she was wrong, just refuses on principle to even just give it a try, because she's such an egotistical narcissist that she would rather live the rest of her life in a miserable seclusion while pettily putting all the blame on one person rather than even just entertain the idea that she might be in the wrong and that she shouldn't be in charge

Why I love Startrix

There's so much to love about these two that makes them one of the best pairings in the show

They both complete and help eachother in beautiful ways, Trixie's carefree attitude helps Starlight be more secure and confident in her abilities and fight her anxiousness, while Starlight is able to make Trixie open up and show her vulnerable, loyal and caring side that she used to keep buried under her boastful personality to hide her insecurities, in a way with Starlight's help Trixie starts actually loving herself for who she is.

However they also keep at bay eachother's worst traits, Starlight will speak up when Trixie's attitude is staring to get a bit too much (well, after All Bottled Up) and Trixie has enough common sense to call her out when she relapses into bad habits.

After they have both been judged by others for most of their life, they know that when they're with eachother it's a safe space where they can just be themselves without any fear.

Intentional or not, all their ship teasing moments are adorable.

But the best part, is all the imperfections in their relationship: they are both really snarky and sarcastic with eachother, they bicker and even outright fight sometime; however, in the end, they always make up and reconcile; and they don't have any moral obligation to do so, they would just never want to lose this bond after it helped and changed both of them so much; some prople think these fights make the ship worse, but for me it only streghtens their bond and how much it means.

Also, on the fanworks side, it's a incredibly versatile ship: you can easily make comedy, drama, dark, fluff or NSFW content with them.

Long story short, Startrix is a ship that's beloved for a reason, it's an awesome pairing of two of the best ponies in the series, and on top of being great on its own, it enhances their own characters as well.
