By the final episode of Friendship is Magic Equestria had essentially become an Utopia.

Twilight's the ruler, the Mane Six form the Council of Friendship, everyone's living their best life. All pony tribes and species are living together in harmony. Twilight sends her pupil to Ponyville to have her own group of friends of different species. Everything's all swell.

Then we jump to A New Generation and literally everything about that ending gets completely undone and the world essentially becomes unrecognizable. Then later they start elaborating on Gen 5's world history and we learn that it did not take terribly long for Equestria to completely fall apart, which raises the question of what's even the point of Gen 4's finale.

I feel like having Gen 4 lead to Gen 5 like this was just a flawed move if Gen 5 is just gonna be doing it's own thing essentially anyway, basically treating Gen 4 as a graveyard to build Gen 5 on top of.

So Derpy is in the same age range as the mane 6 and Dinky is the cmcs age range. We see when Apple Bloom was a baby Applejack was a filly

As a kid, Cadance and Celestia were my favorite MLP princesses but Luna is probably a bit more interesting because of her struggles, personality, and lore.

I like how it wasn't enough for her to just announce that she's good now, she has to prove to her subjects that she really has changed. She's a kind individual, just needs better PR.

I also love "Luna eclipsed" for showing how she's awkward, quirky, and introverted, makes it more fun to see her get used to the customs her people have.
