A question I’ve always had is when and where My Little Pony takes in relation to our world timeline and planet.

We know it takes place in a land called Equestria, and that the technology of ponies by FIM time is a mixture of early 20th century with some modern 21st features and also some medieval accents.

We know ponies speak English which they refer to as ponish. While one can argue that the ponies actually speak a totally different language and English is just so we can understand, we see ponies communicating with other species easily, meaning that English likely is a language they came in contact with at some point as all other races in the world wherever MLP takes place.

In the episode Top Bolt we hear the mention of “feet” as a unit for measuring distance, this implies ponies at some point came in contact with U.S. customary measurement units and it wouldn’t make sense for ponies to have a unit called that given “feet” are not part of a pony’s body.

I have three theories:

1. My Little Pony takes place in the far future in a planet we tried to colonise and brought horses into. Scientists created a type of virus that was suppose to make us smarter and more endurable, and we tested it on horses first. It made horses develop our intelligence and evolve to the 4 distinct species we know. However it had bad effects on us and we began to die out. Eventually horses were left and they became the dominant and smarter species and learned from us and built their own nations.

2. All equal to the 1st other than instead of it being in a planet we tried to colonize it happens in our Earth but hundreds of thousands to possibly millions of years in the future. Only it all happens on earth instead of a far away planet we tried to colonize.

3. Equestria is its own entirely separate planet somewhere out there we don’t know, and it has its own separate cultures and language totally unrelated to ours, and all language adaptions and borrowings are simply so we obviously understand the series.

But these are my theories what are your thoughts on it?

Sorry I couldn’t add more characters but you can still put who’s your favourite and/or least favourite characters in the comments if they’re not on here if you want!

I like to think that cheese sandwich and pinkie were on some kind of mission together for some reason or another , and he spent a whole day trying to propose to pinky pie in which she was completely oblivious . Then at the end , pinkie pie just says “ wow this was so much fun ! I wish we could do it all the time!! Do you wanna get married ?? “ and he says “that is what I have been saying “

And pinkie just goes “oooooooooooooooohhhh . Then yes!! We can get married in 185 and 1/2 days !!”

“Huh?”
“That would be an afternoon wedding silly!!”

What happened to the scroll?.

It could be the power of harmony itself or the map is using time travel to determine who to send on friendship quests as it always picks the right people to solve the problem but what makes that interesting is that it provides zero context and just points in the general direction and whose going to said place.

I haven’t looked back to see what happened before starlight’s revenge but I don’t think it would matter anyway because time travel, anyone who goes through the portal is a time anomaly a history that never happened yet is still around so if twilight can leave a sombra ruled equestria to fix the past then the map should be able to do the same and send fluttershy and applejack to the kirins instead of what it did previously.

Before I get the Fluttercord shippers that will cram it down my throat, I personally never cared for that ship. It’s not that I HATE IT or people who ship it, it gives me the minor ick of ‘I can fix him’ trope I REALLY do not like

I mean I love Fluttershy and Discord’s friendship and I ship Fluttercord, but I also think Pinkie Pie could’ve been a better option. I mean the contrast between Flutters and Discord is cool, but I think Pinkie and Discord could’ve been so cool too. They match each other well and could have so much fun together. I really wanted to see a Pinkie and Discord episode. Idk, they just make sense to me.

Or at least give Scoot’s bio patents a life of thier mind for how neglectful they were to poor Scoots

I’d personally choose Spitfire. But who would you take?

Before we get into my take, for those who don't know, Nightmare Star is an evil Celestia from a world where she rules Equestria in eternal daylight. She first appeared as a card for the Absolute Discord set for the MLP collectable card game. The set was released in 2015. She also has her own poster and she has another card, which is simply just a trading card.

Now as for why I think she has a better design. Daybreaker feels too similar to Nightmare Moon's design, which is no surprise when you invert them both. Nightmare Star also just feels more regal when compared to Daybreaker. She has actual regalia, while Daybreaker just wears a helmet, a chest plate, the orange armor things on her wings, and the shoe things. While she does have a red jewel in her helmet, it just pales in comparison to Nightmare Star to me. Also, she has way too much orange going on. The armor is orange, the splotch where her cutie mark is orange (and it makes it hard to make out her cutie mark, too). And her flaming mane. I'll be real here, it's way too yellow, not enough orange and no red. While Nightmare Star's mane is perfect. It has an even amount of yellow, orange, and even red in it. Not too much of one color. Now, I could go on and on, but this post is already a lengthy read, so that's it.

It just feels like the creator of the AU just hates Twilight or just fundamentally misunderstands her character.

From what I've seen of the AU, she is the ONLY character this is done to where they are made completely unlikable and into an unapologetic asshole.

It just feels like the AU creator HATES Twilight and likes Moondancer more because of the misconception created by Amending Fences that Twilight use to be a terrible person, when Moondancer one of the few characters in the show that actually is an unapologetic asshole.

Anyway, I think it's obvious who this AU creators least favorite character is.

To those of you that know and are familiar with the Alien franchise: what do you think a Xenomorph that was bred inside an Alicorn would look like?

We know Xenomorphs end up possessing some of the skills of the species they end up being bred inside. We’ve seen this with humans, dogs, and even Predators.

But what about a Xenomorph bred inside the most magical creature of Equestria, who in the case of some can even move stars?

Do you think a Xenomorph bred inside an Alicorn could possess magic and massive strength along with flight?

While I don't like inconsistencies in fiction, I don't usually get worked up about them, since I accept it as something that just happens with franchises. But sometimes a franchise will pull something that just bothers me to no end.

In MLP's case, is Scootaloo forgetting that she knows about Lightning Dust and her history with Rainbow Dash.

Firstly, these two episodes are only a Season apart, so there's a very good chance that someone who watched the Season 7 episode will notice the inconsistency in Season 8. I think even a young child would be able to notice it.

It almost feels like an insult to the show's audience, that they'd just not notice or care about this very clear inconsistency.

But what really gets me is how Rainbow Dash's parents make a cameo at the end of The Washouts. Their debut appearence was in Parental Glideance, the episode that this episode is contradicting. This really tells me that the people working on The Washouts were either not paying attention or just didn't care about the contradiction being made.
