Anyone Cooked Using Undried?

Hey folks - I’m a pretty enthusiastic home cook and recently I added some dried APE - around a gram - to a lemon mushroom bucatini I made and had a wonderful experience. Curious if anyone has used undried wet shrooms to make food before and how the experience was?

Monotub Dollar General

I’ve ordered a 28 quart monotub with filter holes and etc., on Amazon but I also wanted to get a cheap bigger tub for bigger grows, gonna start my first grow in the 28 quart but not sure if a 52.8 quart storage tub is too big - it also has a rubber seal gasket not sure if that is problematic - fielding any advice for a newbie - I know I’ll have to cut filter holes and add patches.

Anyone recommend MMM

Trying to declare a supplier of a couple syringes for first time growing and I’ve seen a lot of different places, so I’ll field some of them here. To be clear, I’d prefer using syringes though I know some folks claim syringes are ineffective and blah blah blah. I’m not interested in the argument - just the syringes and best suppliers. Sorry - but want to avoid bickering in the comments.

I’ve seen the guide on UncleBens recommending a site but I also found Mushroom Man Mycology here, and people seem to like him, claiming good results and personable nature of the seller.

Please PM or share some thoughts in the comments. This is all purely for research purposes.

Curious of thoughts, I’m all ears!

NotthSpore Grow tub and tech

Never grown before but finally able to spend money on a new hobby such as growing, wanting to grow not only gourmet types but the fun kind too. Been doing research around this thread and seeing people’s results - along with the detailed 4-part guide for cultivation etc.

With everyone’s setups varying - I was curious if it’d just be possible to buy a premade setup and use that for growing - specifically a company like NorthSpore and their bundle for about $150 linked here. I know folks will have their opinions about what they like and how to make it cheaper, but I honestly just want a one stop shop for the tub and environment control and be able to vary my grain, spawn, and substrate instead.

I’m not trying to be some poser who doesn’t want to put in the work I just want something that’ll be easy while I’m working in a new role. And I’m committed to it because of what my experiences with these have done for me, brought me closer to my girlfriend in seeing past the little strifes that plague my mind, laughing in pure joy and love of my friends and family and being able to feel like I belonged once again, I’d do anything to learn how to grow and thrive so I’m all ears!

Marketplace find for 2020 Subaru Outback - Yakima Skyrise Medium

Looking for some honest opinions from people with RTT experience before I pull the trigger.

I found a used Yakima SkyRise HD Medium for $750. Seller says:

  • Includes rainfly
  • Has been re-waterproofed regularly
  • No mold/issues mentioned
  • Includes the metal support for the rainfly
  • Sounds like it’s around 5 years old

I drive a Subaru Outback, so I’d still need to buy the full rack setup:

  • Yakima towers
  • Crossbars
  • Landing pads / fit kit

I did find a rack kit for around $400, but I’m still trying to see if I can negotiate a better deal either on the tent itself or on a rack setup. Trying to figure out if the total cost still makes sense once everything is added together.

Seller also mentioned they have a roof rack that “will adjust to” my Subaru, but I’m skeptical because I thought the Outback setup specifically requires the correct towers + landing pads/fit kit to work properly
