BScEd or BSc + PME?

Hello, I am a 6th year student looking to become a Computer Science and Maths teacher and there is two ways of doing it.

  1. Do a BSc (Education) degree and qualify after 4 or 5 years.

  2. Do a BSc in Maths and Computer Science and then do the PME for a total of 6 years.

I’m wondering if doing the 4 year route would limit my options in anyway if I decided I didn’t want to teach. I’ve also heard from looking on this sub, that the PME is quite stressful and full on so I don’t know if that would just add unnecessary pressure to my degree, rather than doing it slower but having the modules more spread out.

Obviously I haven’t done the degrees so all my thinking might be completely wrong but I’m just not sure whether it would make much of a difference and would like some advice if anyone knows anything about the degrees. GRMA.

Snapchat not letting me add people from search.

I’m trying to add my friend on Snapchat by searching up their name. When I add them, their bitmoji just disappears and when I go out of the app and back into it again, it’s like I never added them.

I have tried:

* Clearing the cache
* Using the PC website
* Uninstalling the app
* Adding them by sending their profile to someone else

None of this has worked and I have contacted Snapchat support and searched the issue on Google.

Any help will be appreciated.

Is there any books that you people know of that are specifically about the Killing Fields in the Khmer Rouge?

I’m looking for books to research and cite information for a school history project.

Saw someone else post this so I decided to make my own.

I feel like my taste might not align with most people here.

I only have one interest and basically no hobbies. I’m also really introverted. How can i branch out and make friends?

At my current stage in life, and for all of my teen years so far, my sole interest has been music.

Music is something I am incredibly passionate about but I struggle to be interested in anything else which makes finding common ground with people very hard. Conversations tend to dry up quickly, no one seems to want to talk to me and i have no idea how to talk to other people.

In terms of hobbies, my closest thing would be playing guitar (even though I’m shit at it lol). I play chess sometimes and I want to get back into playing video games as I used to a good bit when I was younger. Apart from those I can’t think of any hobbies that interest or excite me.

I feel like I’ve never had any real friends because I haven’t been able to have long lasting conversations with them and I eventually realised all the people I thought i was friends with don’t enjoy my company as much as each others because they don’t share as much interests with me.

This has been on my mind a lot recently and any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Edit: After reading the rules, I’m not sure how much this post fits here, I guess i’ll wait and see if it stays up.

Rate my CAO list (I’m in 5th year)

I’m thinking of Comp Science and Maths or Maths and History

Hi, I am a 5th year student thinking of becoming a teacher when I leave school. The three subjects I’ve been thinking of are History, Maths and Computer Science. My plan is as follows:

* Do a BA in Maynooth and Major in History and Computer Science

* Do the PME (not sure where yet tbh)

* Do the Maths for Teaching course through UL

I’m not sure if this is possible or recommended. I’ve been researching but gotten nowhere. Help is appreciated. Thank you.
