Giving it a go on the Atlantic coast for a change

Been a couple of years since I last fished here. Just a casual session today to check out the water with some artificial baits. Need to get along to the tackle shop for some rag and squid on the next couple of days.

Old Hunstanton, 18th June 2026

Brilliant session on the sand at Old Hunstanton on Thursday. Fishing 8-11pm with highwater at 10pm, just after sunset. The scratching rig was baited with fresh lug and was kept busy all night, starting with a couple of small flatties and then the schoolie bass showed up. Bass only to 29cm, mostly quite a bit smaller. Every cast a fish.

The other rod was baited with whole raw jumbo king prawn (head-on, unshelled) on a 2-hook flapper dongle rig. No action until 10 and then a solid bite and several runs landed a 8lb 10oz smoothhound. The bait was still in good shape, although the rig needed quite a bit of untangling, so the same prawns went out and 10-15 minutes later landed another ~8lb hound (the one shown being released).

Perfect night for it, still t-shirt temperatures as I was packing up.

Loft archaeology - ZX time capsule

Digging a test pit in the attic and I've found a time capsule from the past. Can't remember what happened to the 48K, but there's a boxed +2A Lightgun set-up up there.

More obscure tapes to follow, many of them games I'd completely forgotten about.

Doing minimal research for my next project and rather than forming even the most basic of queries in Google or applying a gram of common sense, I thought I'd just ask here if Rule 2 still exists?

Blanking in the early spring sunshine this afternoon, Cromer Pier, Norfolk. It's good to be out.
