Hilfe!

RAW vs, JPEG and ISO setting - Exlain it like I am stupid

I am trying to understand the impact on the ISO setting in digital images, and especially for astronomy photography. Here's my assumption:

A RAW file basically just records the number of photons that hit a pixel during exposure. But if I look at a JPEG, the ISO serves as a multiplication factor that eventually gives me a bit value for that pixel on my screen. So for astrophotography in RAW the ISO really doesn't matter, since I will tweak the multiplication factor for photon count to pixel intensity afterwards in post. Does that make sense?

I have been trying to keep ISOs as low as possible to avoid noise in my SooC JPEGs, but I am starting to wonder if that actually made any sense

Knoedelhilfe

CPE possessed?

I am using Circuit Playground Express boards with the Cricket board in my classroom using MakeCode, and I have run into a problem. Some of the CPE boards have started to run random programs - Neopixels that show weird patterns, motors that run or stop randomly after a restart, and even a pin13 running what looks like the Blink sketch.

Does anybody have an idea what is going on, and how I could fix it? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Otherwise I will have to ask the geology teacher to perform an exorcism...

12V battery issues in 2017 Toyota Prius Prime - dead battery or short circuit?

I am trying to understand what is happening with the 12V battery in our Prius. It is our second car, our kid used it for a while, but now they are off to college and the car sits in the driveway.

About 2 winters ago a squirrel (?) made it its winter home, and things have been going downhill since. Batteries only last a few weeks before the car doesn't start. We are on our third battery now. This one died again (V = 1.3 volts). I hooked it up to a regulated power supply at 12.5 V and charged it for hours with a current of about 0.5 A or less. When I disconnected the battery, I measured a voltage of 11.8 V or so.

Full of hope I installed the battery in the Prius. When I connected the battery the car made some active noises, like relays were active, etc. . But then I left to run some errants with the battery installed, but the car not on. When I came back a couple of hours later, the voltage was back down to 2.2V.

So, is this a) a battery that died due to sitting around unused for months, and all those hours of current was for nothing. Or b) there is a short circuit somewhere (with squirrel bite marks, probably) that drains my battery quickly?

I am just about ready to buy yet another battery to at least get the car to a mechanic, but I'd like to know what I could do other than what I did to recharge the battery, and what I can expect

(Oh, and if it were possible, I'd select the flair "error code ID10T". I know nothing about cars other than what "Car Talk" had tried to teach me)
