Help identifying a discontinued Zebra retractable pen that belonged to my late sister
Hi everyone! I’m hoping the collective pen knowledge here can solve a mystery.
I’m trying to identify an older Zebra retractable disposable pen that belonged to my late sister. She loved pens and journaling, and this became one of my favorite pens to write with because it reminds me of her. Unfortunately, it’s starting to run out of ink, and I’d love to find this exact model or compatible refills.
Details:
• Brand: Zebra
• Retractable
• Disposable (as far as I know)
• Matte blue plastic barrel
• Wide barrel, about the same diameter as a Pentel EnerGel
• Plastic clip with “ZEBRA” centered on the clip
• Two ink windows on the clip side
• Three smaller ink windows on the opposite side
• Blue clicker
• Plastic cone-shaped tip section
• Clear plastic refill with “24F” lightly etched into it (I don’t see any other markings)
Writing characteristics:
• Writes like approximately a 1.0 mm tip (although no tip size is marked)
• Extremely smooth
• Very saturated blue ink
• Much smoother than a typical oil-based ballpoint
• Feels similar to a hybrid/emulsion ink or a very smooth gel pen
I’ve searched current Zebra models (Sarasa, Z-Grip, F-301, bLen, Jimnie, Tapli, etc.), and none appear to match this pen.
I’ve attached photos of both sides of the pen and can also post photos of the refill if that would help.
Questions:
Does anyone recognize this model?
Approximately what years was it sold?
Is it discontinued?
Are compatible refills available?
If not, is there a modern refill that could be adapted to fit this pen body?
I’d be incredibly grateful for any help. This pen means a lot to me because it belonged to my sister, and I’d love to keep writing with it.
Thank you!
Indoor Plants Living Outside for Summer
I have so many indoor plants that I decided to move outside in March this year so it would be easier to water. I didn’t realize until this week how much they had grown!
I live in Austin Tx and they are kept on the patio away from direct sun.
Now I will have to figure out how to get them all back inside before the cold hits!
(I moved my Hoyas back inside a couple of months ago).
Plumeria Seeds Sprouting
This is one of my mother in law's plumeria that I inherited 4 years ago. Last year, she grew a seed pod (which freaked me out because I had no clue what it was!)
The seed pod opened up last weekend and I planted the seeds on Sunday, July 5th.
The seeds have already sprouted and I cannot tell you how excited I am!
Maya Red Variagated
I purchased her last year at Plantcon in Dallas. She hasn’t bloomed yet, but she is close!
She has been extremely easy to care for. I have her in well draining soil, in Texas full sun. I thought full sun mat burn her precious leaves, but she has done great.
