Trumgeta Side Steps Installed on 4th Gen Tacoma

Just installed the Trumgeta side steps on my 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport and figured I’d share some thoughts for anyone considering them.

They are a surprisingly solid for the price. The steps are pretty lightweight, which actually made installation easy enough to do solo. Took me around 45 minutes total to remove the OEM oval tube steps and install these.

The powder coated finish looks clean and matches the truck well. Clearance from the ground is about the same as the OEM steps that came on the truck, but visually the truck actually looks taller and more aggressive with these installed.

Grip is also much better than I expected. My older family members had no issues getting in and out, even with the truck sitting a little higher.

Overall I’m really happy with them so far. Maybe because I had them on my 4Runner before I got the Tacoma. Definitely one of my favorite appearance upgrades I’ve done recently. Curious what everyone else is running for side steps/sliders on the 4th gens.

Lasfit Liners Installed

Installed the Lasfit floor liners this week in my Tacoma and I'm very impressed with the fit and finish. Coverage is way better than the generic liners I was using before, especially around the door sills where the liner extends over the door plates.

One reason 1 upgraded was because I previously had salsa spill in the rear floorboard with my old liners. Liquid ended up getting past the edge of the liner, soaked into the carpet next to it, and even seeped between the carpet and door trim. Huge pain to clean up. The added side coverage on these should help prevent that from happening again.
Something to consider if you're in the market for some.

Last picture compares generic liners I bought on Amazon and my new Lasfit liners.

Rear Recovery Points Installed

Super easy install overall. The hardest part was removing the plastic frame caps without breaking them. A plastic trim removal tool definitely helped. Really happy with how this mod turned out and the added functionality/looks it brings to the Tacoma.

Under Seat Subwoofer Install - Driver Side - 2024 Tacoma

Picked up a slim under-seat sub and planning to install it under the driver-side seat in my non-JBL 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport.

Most installs/videos I’ve found either mount the sub under the passenger seat or behind the rear seats, but I’d prefer to keep the rear storage area usable.

Current plan:
- BOSS Audio 8-gauge amp wiring kit
- Beat-Sonic BH10 harness
- Using high-level inputs only
- Amp has auto turn-on/signal sensing, so I’m planning to skip RCAs and a remote turn-on wire

Goal is a 100% reversible install with no cutting or splicing of factory wiring.

A few questions:
- Does this setup/plan sound solid?
- Any major reason people prefer the passenger side besides easier wiring access?
- Is there a good/easy ground location under the driver-side seat?

I’ve installed head units and subs before, but it’s been 20+ years, so I’m easing myself back into it. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated.

Just got around to installing the Lexland Tacoma tailgate inserts. They look better than I expected, especially against the Underground paint.

Install was straightforward. I prepped the surface with an ONR wash followed by Gyeon Prep to make sure the adhesive had a clean surface to bond to. After installing, I let the truck sit out in the sun for a few hours to help everything set.

For the price, these are a great alternative to OEM. The letters do sit slightly raised off the tailgate, but I actually like the added depth. I think it gives it a more aggressive look.

Long-term durability is still to be determined, but so far I’m really happy with how they turned out.
