Jumping from SDE2 to Senior SDE. Feeling imposter syndrome. Need advice

Currently an SDE2 at a non-FAANG company and recently accepted a Senior SDE role at another non-FAANG company. Honestly feeling a bit of imposter syndrome because in my head “Senior” always sounded like someone with 10+ years experience architecting everything from scratch.

At my current role, I’ve done a good amount of code reviews, production support, debugging across services, helped onboard/mentor newer SDE1s, and guided them through tickets and workflows, but I never directly managed people. The new role is also fully remote, so I’m wondering how to build strong technical trust and visibility without being physically around the team.

Would love advice from people who made a similar jump. What actually changes from SDE2 -> Senior in practice? What mindset shifts helped you most?

Also looking for recommendations on:

  • YouTube playlists/channels
  • Books
  • Podcasts
  • Anything that helped you grow into a true senior engineer

Especially around system design, ownership, communication, architecture decisions, and leading without formal authority.

Urgently looking for 2 roommates for a 3BD unit in Williamsburg

Hey, looking for 2 roommates to fill a 3-bedroom in Williamsburg., right by Sternberg Park starting June 1. I found a really solid spot and want to lock it in with the right people.

The apartment itself is clean and updated: hardwood floors, central air, and a modern kitchen with a dishwasher. The building is well-kept and actually has useful amenities.

Details:
• 3 bedrooms
• 1 bathroom
• Central air
• Dishwasher
• Hardwood floors

Building perks:
• Laundry in building
• Gym
• Roof deck
• Package room + virtual doorman

Location is honestly one of the best parts, super easy access to everything in Williamsburg and quick commute options. G, J, M, and L trains are all about a 5-minute walk.

Total rent is $4,650 for the unit (split 3 ways).

Looking for people who are easy to live with: clean (super important), respectful, and not bringing chaos into the apartment. Prefer non-smokers, no pets, and income around 100k+.

If you’re interested, shoot me a message with a bit about yourself. LinkedIn or socials would help.

Looking for a room/apartment around June 1 (Or later)

I’m 25 and will be starting a new role with an outdoor recreation company in NYC. Looking for a room starting around June 1st (a little later is okay too). Ideally trying to stay under $1800 for my share and open to living with 1–2 roommates. Main areas I’m looking at are Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bushwick, and Bed-Stuy. (but okay with other areas in Manhattan for the right spot)

I’d need enough space for a full-size bed, desk setup, and some closet/storage space. My schedule will mostly be hybrid. I’m pretty easygoing overall. I meal prep pretty regularly (usually eggs, rice, veggies, simple stuff), enjoy being social, and go out for bachata dancing pretty often. I don’t have pets, but I’m totally fine living them. Big thing for me is cleanliness. I like keeping common spaces clean and organized, so I’d love roommates who are similar in that regard. I don’t smoke, and I drink occasionally/socially.

Open to apartment hunt together as well.
