Are ya’ll sterilizing every time?
I’ve been sterilizing bottle parts after every use. Baby will be 2 months old next week though and I’m wondering whether that’s necessary? If not, thinking of switching to just sterilizing every Sunday.

Baby drinks Kendamil and I keep seeing people talk about RTF options. Looks like Kendamil doesn’t have this option for the US. Any recommendations for one to try that might be similar enough that it won’t bother his stomach?
Any recommendations? Baby takes over 30 min with the slow flow and falls asleep, and then finishes too fast with the medium and gets frustrated when I slow him down by making him take breaks. He has gas pain with both bottles. Is there something in between someone can suggest? He’s 4 weeks old.
Baby is a little over 3 weeks old and I’ve been underproducing this whole time. I am now pumping enough for a little less than half of his food to come from breastmilk and the rest is formula. Yesterday I had the brilliant idea of wanting to just feed him all formula yesterday and today to see if he has any tummy issues with it, in case I decide to stop pumping and switch to just formula. Didn’t really think about how that might mess with his tummy making the switch so abruptly and he had awful painful gas all day yesterday. We were able to help him with some probiotic drops. Anyways, it made me think, is there some kind of transition we are supposed to do for that kind of switch? Like if I was doing 50/50 breastmilk and formula, do 25/75 for a few days first or something? Any advice is appreciated!
So I bought the Dr Browns sterilizer thinking it was a bottle washer. My mom has been staying with me so she’s been hand washing all of my pump parts and bottles and putting them in the sterilizer for me.
She’s going to be gone in 2 weeks and I’m wondering whether I should get a bottle washer. I see a couple on OfferUp, and someone is willing to sell me their momcozy bottle washer for $125.
We are moving into a new place and will have a dishwasher, so I’m not sure if I should just use the dishwasher instead? I’m just not sure how long dishwasher cycles typically are. I pump like 6 times a day, and cycle through 5 bottles, so we are washing and sterilizing probably like 8-10 times a day.
Thoughts?
Hi there! Baby is now 12 days old and I’ve had to supplement with formula since I am not able to produce enough milk. My supply is slowly going up so he gets 1 maybe 2 bottles of breast milk a day. Other than that, I’ve been giving him the Kendamil organic whole milk formula. The thinking is that both me and my husband do really well with whole milk from A2 cows so we thought baby would too. I know they also make a goats milk formula though as well that is good for sensitive stomachs, but I don’t want to switch if it seems like the cows milk one is working well. This is my first baby so I have no idea what’s a normal amount of gas or what it looks like if he did have a sensitivity. Any tips on what I can look out for?
I keep feeling what I think is probably the baby stretching, I imagine it would have to be him moving his head slowly or staying in position because it lasts longer than a few seconds, unlike the lightning feeling. It’s starting to feel more intense where it takes away my breath. Anyone else experienced this? Is it something else that I’m feeling instead? I just never imagined that baby stretching could feel so painful. I’m 38w1d.
There was a restaurant I went to once in NYC where they had a cheese cart for dessert. They would literally roll out this cart full of different cheeses and you would choose a few different ones and that was your dessert. Is there anything like that here in Portland?
Hey there, I’m looking for advice on whether I’m being stupid for even considering something like this, or silly for overthinking it. My husband and I currently share a vehicle since we work together. We have a baby on the way in less than 2 months and we are thinking I should get my own vehicle since I’ll be working at a different office part time, and also so I can go to doctors appointments, grocery shopping, etc. I probably wouldn’t be going on the freeway very much but I would still like to if I wanted to go visit my mom, or even just go to a store that’s on the other side of town. The main vehicle we have now would still be the one we use primarily and for all trips.
I found a 1976 240d with 103,000 miles. I just went to look at it yesterday with the husband and it’s in great condition. Manual 4 speed. I really love it, but I’m thinking it may be an irresponsible choice to have a baby in. My husband thinks it’s totally safe, but I don’t know if that’s just the beautiful car speaking or actual reason.
My concerns: the 76 doesn’t come with airbags, there is no middle seatbelt so the car seat would need to be hooked up on the passenger side as opposed to the middle, which I’ve heard is less safe.
Anyways, I was hoping to gain some insight from anyone that knows more about this. This is our first child too so I’m sure there are many things that we are still very naive about and we both tend to be dreamers, which is great for making things happen, but can also mean sometimes we don’t fully think things through.
Thank you!
So I’m walking and then all the sudden get hit with a sharp pain in my lower middle abdomen, upper crotch area, which forces me to drop my husbands hand and grab the area wincing in pain. It happened a few more times during the walk until I thankfully got home. Is that lightning crotch???
It started with noticing someone was pulling the weeds in front of the business I work at. In the morning, there’d be a pile of weeds and this has continued to happen. Then, I was walking on 23rd last week and there was someone who appeared to be houseless pulling weeds. Just now, I’m on the freeway and see someone pulling weeds over the railing, stretching to reach and putting the weeds in their pocket. Has anyone else been observing this too or is it just me?
