Failing LPFP?
2013 VW GTI. 160k. The car has been having issues with occasional stalling at idle and loss of power at highway speeds. No codes whatsoever. I ran boost, fuel pressure, and cam logs (spec vs actual) and all seems well. Could the lpfp still be failing but having the hpfp pick up the slack on occasion? I’m at a bit of a loss.
Testing a turbo with VCDS?
I’ve got a 2013 CBFA at 160k and I really think my turbo is failing. It drives fine for a little bit, then when it gets fully warm it loses a ton of power and you can hear the exhaust tone get really low. It’s almost like you can hear the turbo spoiling or trying to spool but not all of the power is there. I feel like I’m hearing a slight whine as it decelerates under load as well. It’s throwing no codes as of now. Is there any way to test it in VCDS? And could it be another part of the turbo like a DV getting stuck or something? Thanks!

Are there any underlying reasons why it would’ve failed like this? Oil changes are regular every 3-5k with Motul. I just had the timing done as well and it is within spec. Currently at 160k. Installed a new N205 and the car is running great, just trying to figure out if there’s anything that might have caused the inner sleeve to come out like that. They’re very, very tight on new ones.
Oil on top of 5-spd gearbox?
Going over a few things today and noticed a fair amount of fresh wet oil around the shifter cable bracket. Transmission oil? Engine oil? Not sure if there’s a seal there that might be going bad or something.
