Help with spark blowout

Hello all, I am currently experiencing spark blowout with my 2010 gti, it has a downpipe with stage 2 tune from IE, I co reacted IE about proper range spark plugs and proper gap and they said to use the stock plugs with the stock gap size of 0.032”. I’ve also heard people going with colder plugs and running smaller gaps, I gapped them smaller and still have some spark blowout, any plug or gap recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Arm intercooler install

Wsg guys, if u remember my intercooler post the other week I ended up getting an Arm competition series intercooler. Today I got it mocked up on the front support and have the whole support loosened so I can continue to get back to work tmrw. Anybody who’s installed it before have any insight or advice about the next steps? Especially with the horn relocation and making sure I get the piping right. Also I’m removing the oem intercooler but don’t have an oem delete kit. Any insight would be helpful thank u

Here’s your sign to not purchase Vland taillights.

After two years of road use. Cracking along the lower edge from road vibration. Both sides showing this. Putting the stocks back on…

Edit to add variables: The car lives in the garage, and it still can get hot where I live. It’s only taken out on the weekends so sitting in a heat box is probably to strongest variable at play here…with the cheap plastic. You do get what you paid for. Also I live in the mountains, lowered suspension (Koni/h&r), and not maintained roads until I get down the hill. I’m sure they would last longer in the city under normal circumstances.

Weird fluttering sound mechanic says wastegate

I have a weird wooshing or fluttering sound when under boost, mechanic says it could be the wastegate and that I would need to replace the turbo.

Is it true?

Fuck Gemini and fuck me

Asked Gemini what plugs run one temp colder for my 2011 GTI. This is what they said. Now I'm in the process of pulling my engine apart and either getting a new head and valves (because the electrode broke off in the cylinder) or a new long block (because I don't know what's causing no compression, could be damaged cylinder walls or fucked up valves)

All because Gemini told me the part number for the wrong fucking plug and said it was a popular option for the mk6 🤬🤬🤬

I'm so not happy right now!

The only silver lining is that now I'm forced to get a bigger turbo

Rough idle (misfire, rev fluctuations), rough driving (plz help)

Hey guys 🤙🏻

Had my mk6 gti for quite some time now. Got into my car after work and something seemed off, engine revved slightly higher than normal after turning over on cold start. Once its 'cold start' period finished, revs dropped but starting misfiring as it happened. Doesn't misfire while driving though, only when stationary and not up to temperature, once up to temperature misfire goes away.

The car does not throw up any engine lights at all.

Another thing also is the revs fluctuate on idle when not misfiring, revving up slowly to 1.5k-1.8k then drops slightly and repeats. Also does this when I am changing gears, revs sit high for a second until I let out the clutch (manual) even though I am not on the accelerator. My stage is stage 2 tuned, and burbles under deceleration, although it does not do this anymore as if the cars accelerator is stuck slightly open or is broken. 🤷

Also makes very highly pitched noise from engine both driving and idle. Have been looked at by mechanic, is apparently not a vacuum leak, and have reset codes and modules after plugging in an expensive code reader on some fancy software (forgotten the name mechanic told me) although had not make a difference.

Mechanic tested if it was a pcv valve fail, he claims it is all working and unrelated to the problem.

Possible problems (imo)

Faulty fuel injector

Needing carbon clean out

Things to note:

167,000km

Maintenance: Timing chain, water pump, oil pump, upgraded plugs and coils (9,000km ago), recent service.

Mods: intake, d/p, exhaust, fmic, d/v, stage 2 tune.

I apologise for such a yap, I really do love this car and would like to provide as much detail as I can so hopefully you guys can give suggestions 🙏

Anyone have experience with these headlights?

Looking for opinions on headlights I found these in eBay was curious if anyone’s purchased them. I’ve also seen AKD headlights from aliexpress but I’m not sure if the price is per unit or for the set

I’ve heard best results from K2 Industries for the mk7.5 style headlights but I can’t find them on their website and they are also bit out of budget

For context I have halogens and I got new housings on fb when I first got my car but they are chipping and are messed up

APR ECU remap impressions on my Golf MK6 TDI

Recently hit 300,000km and as a milestone present it got an ECU tune. Absolutely stoked with it, and I wish I'd done it earlier!

Way more immediate torque at the lower end of the rev range, and a lot more power higher up in the rev range where previously it would fall off. It put a massive smile on my face. On 235 wide Michelin PS5's and it can lose traction all the way through second gear now.

Other mods include Bilstein B16 coilovers, Whiteline front/rear sway bars, end links, ball joints, a Racingline air intake for some extra woosh, and a short shifter kit.

It's tons of fun now. I think a limited slip diff would make a world of difference but realistically that would cost me more than the whole car is worth.

What next after stage 2/How far can I push on 91 and stock internals?

General internet advise seems to be 400 before the rods pop. Which is fine since my clutch is only rated to 400 anyway. My main question is where to go after stage 2 that doesn't involve killing my MPG with ethanol injection or water/meth since I don't want to bother with all that.

Is it just K04/hybrid K04 and pray?

Sold my MK6 GTI

It was a fun 7 years, I had little money when I first got mine with 65,000 miles. I neglected it here in there so when it got to 144,000 I could not counting to support all the needs it had build up over the years. I had a lot of fun with it, went on many cruises up the canyons, enjoyed all the downshifts and slight throttle response from the turbo spooling up and then boom POWA baby!! pushing you into the bucket seats!
The never ending coolant and oil leaks 😂 mine was a mk6 so yeah! I went through so many coolant leaks and oil leaks. It was all worth it when I drove it everyday to work and back zooming through traffic. Anyway not sure what car I’m getting next Golf R, S5 or S4 but what I do know is this little 4 cylinder car making 200hrsprs got me itching for MOPOWABABY!
