Love painting with metallic watercolor paints

Sometimes I take a break from the routine of regular watercolor painting and just let the paintings do the magic. I have a collection of handmade metallic watercolor paints and like to just let them shine on the paper. I hope you enjoy.

Using epoxy clay to make pendants

I make resin on paper jewelry and finish my pendants using epoxy clay instead of polymer clay. This is cause I don’t want to risk baking the resin. Epoxy clay is fun to work with but has a window of about 30 minutes after being mixed together. After the clay bezel is made and hardened I’ll go and paint it a metallic color.

I make jewelry with paper and resin

I work with resin on paper. it’s a process I discovered on my own. I love how the resin makes the paintings pop. This is a progress picture of putting resin on paper.

Epoxy resin vs UV resin

I make jewelry using paper and resin. I mostly use epoxy resin. I recently compared epoxy resin with UV resin. Take some time to check it out link in comments.

More info:

My go to is epoxy resin but I know that some people use UV resin in their crafts with paper. So I don’t really use UV resin but I have it around just in case I need to make some small repairs. I thought I’d show you my opinions and experience with using both epoxy resin and UV resin for applying it to paper. In the end, the big difference is how it looks and feels on top of the paper.

🤍

The main differences are that epoxy resin is a two-part resin that you have to mix together and measure out. It also takes about 24 hours to fully cure and to get a nice glassy dome like effect It will take about 2 to 3 layers. UV resin on the other hand just comes straight out of the bottle and you put it under a UV lamp for about 3 to 6 minutes and you’re done.

Using the UV resin wasn’t too much different from using the epoxy resin. It went on the same and putting on extra layers was the same too. It was kind of tricky to know how much to squeeze out of the bottle but I’m sure one gets use to that over time.

💧

like I said, the main difference is how the resin looks on top of the paper after being cured. The epoxy resin has a more glass like look I would say while the UV resin leaves more ripples and an odd surface. The epoxy resin feels more like a glass surface and is smooth and dense feeling. The UV resin feels more like melted plastic. It’s a subtle difference probably but I prefer epoxy resin’s look in the end. So I won’t be changing to UV resin anytime soon but I’ll keep it around for repairs or applying to really tiny pieces.

☺️

It’s up to you what kind of resin you want to use and I would say you can use any kind. I’m gonna leave with my recommendation to use epoxy resin because of how it looks in the end and I guess I just like using it.

✨💕

I hope this helped you and if you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments.

Looking for best summer swimming spot

Hello. I’m looking for a lake or river place to swim at this summer. Please don’t say Green Lakes. I’d like locations that could possibly be not so crowded. This can be within 20-30 minutes of Syracuse or further out like 1 hr away etc. Share your favorite spots, too.
