🚨 Breaking 🚨 Litecoin MWEB surpasses all time high again- breaking 535,000 coins.
What exactly is MWEB you ask?
Litecoin coins move along the main blockchain similar to cars on a highway.
MWEB is a privacy layer on the same blockchain that coins can move to, but with privacy, think of it as more like a tunnel.
Coins can be seen entering and recorded as yours in number, but they go through some changes inside MWEBs privacy layer.
They are mixed around, meaning you may use a different coin when moving off (or “pegging out”) MWEB.
The histories of the coins are trimmed- which is important when being concerned about your coins getting confiscated (for example they were given to you from someone who gets flagged).
As they leave MWEB, they are spent from a newly generated address. That means anyone looking at your Litecoin history cannot trace it back to your wallet or see how many coins you have or your transaction history. Privacy makes you safer.
MWEB itself has quantum switches built in- which can protect users coins in the case of an attack, moving the coins to a different layer, and leaving the quantum computer to attack an empty block.
There are drawbacks. It is not as private as Monero and ZCash, because we are able to record coin totals by tallying the entering and exiting coins.
It’s an overall total, not including your personal addresses (because it’s a new address/coin leaving MWEB).
Personally, I like the idea that this is more for honest users and retail wallet protection, and less used by businesses embezzling funds, or criminals that want absolute privacy.
While recent coin exploits may have left some of the fully private chains unable to clearly show their total coins, we were able to verify our balance and make sure no coins were lost.
I also like seeing the coin reserves transparently logged.
We always will know how many Litecoin and MWEB coins there are.

🚨 Breaking 🚨 Litecoin MWEB breaks all time high record for the second time in a matter of weeks.
Litecoiners are out in force to change their own fate right now, as skyrocketing transaction numbers and tightening coin supplies collide.
Litecoin stored on the privacy layer of MWEB broke the ATH record last week, only to turn around and break it again this week.
505,481.58682765 LTC are currently pegged into MWEB.
This takes place as a series of announcements hit the community today, including LitVM transaction numbers surpassing 200,000,000 in only 15 weeks of the test net, and the announcement that smart contracts are going live today.

🚨 Breaking 🚨 Newest coin statistics out from @ForceXHQ showing that #Litecoin may have a supply tightening of unprecedented levels.
Over 50 MILLION of the only 84 Million coin supply has been held longer than 6 months.
The amount of Litecoin actually available to the market is much smaller than the total supply suggests.
Data shows that more supply is being held for longer periods of time.
- 44% hasn't moved in over 1 year
- 16.5% hasn't moved in over 5 years
- 11.8% (9M) hasn't moved in over 7 years
This means the amount of $LTC actively circulating or realistically available to the market is meaningfully lower than the circulating supply figure alone would imply.
The data also shows that the active portion of Litecoin circulating is doing significant economic work.
Over the last 30 days, adjusted payment value totaled roughly 522M LTC, averaging about 17.4M LTC per day. That daily average is larger than the entire supply cohort that has moved within the past 3 months, indicating that the active portion is supporting substantial transaction activity relative to its size.
This doesn't mean each LTC is unique across every transaction, but it does show that the available float is being used heavily.
This also isn't a price forecast, but it's an important market structure observation. As new issuance of this digital silver continues to decline, supply and demand analysis should account for both available float and the level of transaction activity that float is already supporting, not just total circulating supply.

Each step has been cleared.
While this does not end the scrutiny it is a positive step forward in the offensive stance Litecoin has picked to protect user assets.
Because of the careful monitoring a minor exploit was prevented on a side chain last month which the mining pools discovered while updating their software.
The next step includes multiple audits of LitVM both internal and external to pass regulatory status.
