I spent 18 months to create this 14 minutes horror animation, here is the quick look at the creation process

1.5 years of sleepless nights, heavy node work, and pushed-to-the-limit hardware all lead to this moment. 💻🩸

For the past 18 months, I have been wearing every single hat—writing, animating, and editing this solo project.

Here is a quick look at the creation process and final fragments of my psychological body horror short film, "A Good Man." I built this entire dark, surreal world completely in Blender EEVEE to give it a specific, heavy dream-like vibe.

Mark your calendars: The full 14-minute short movie drops on YouTube on 30.06.2026.

The countdown is live. Click the link from the comments to make sure you don't miss the premiere. 🔗👇

PL

Półtora roku nieprzespanych nocy, intensywnej pracy i sprzętu pracującego na granicy wytrzymałości – wszystko to doprowadziło do tego momentu. 💻🩸

„A Good Man”.

From viewport wireframe to final EEVEE render. Here is a quick breakdown of my 14 minute solo psychological horror project. Premiere on June 30th!

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a quick look at the workflow behind my upcoming 14-minute psychological body horror short, "A Good Man." Here I would like to present some of locations that are visible in the full film. For me the most important thing was not to make it photorealistic but semi-realistic with it's own gloomy vibe.

Rendering a narrative film this long completely in Blender EEVEE as a solo creator was a massive learning curve over the last 1.5 years. The story follows a priest's mental and physical decay, so getting the surreal, dark atmosphere, to look right in EEVEE required a lot of heavy node work, lighting tricks and experimentation.

Quick Pipeline Details:

  • Animation: Blender, Mixamo, Daz3D.
  • Texturing/Art: Blender Nodes, Clip Studio Paint, Magnific, Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay, public domain religious art
  • DIY music: Recorded my own voice via tablet mic, used Walk Band (Android), and a physical Stylophone.
  • Editing: DaVinci Resolve.

⚠️ CONTENT WARNING: The final film contains graphic body horror, intense imagery, and highly disturbing themes.

As an indie creator, your support means everything. If you like how the final renders look, please consider checking out the full film, subscribing, or leaving a comment! Let me know if you have any questions about the EEVEE material setups or the workflow.

I spent the last 1.5 years animating a solo body horror short film at night 💻🩸

Hi everyone! I wanted to share the trailer for my upcoming 14-minute animated short film - "A Good Man"

For the past 18 months, Blender allowed me to fulfill a childhood dream. Going solo meant wearing every single hat: director, writer, editor, composer, and VFX artist. It was exhausting, but incredibly rewarding.

Project Quick Facts:

  • 🎭 Genre: Body Horror / Short Film
  • Runtime: ~14 minutes
  • ⚙️ Engine: Eevee (My laptop literally begged for mercy whenever I tried Cycles, but Eevee killed it!)
  • 📅 Release Date (YouTube): June 30, 2026

I would love to hear your thoughts on the trailer! I am also down to answer any technical questions about the workflow.
