What exactly is Cox going to bring to my house? Got a door hanger that fiber is now available...

I'm a telecom tech by trade, so understand this stuff a bit more than the average person. Live in a rural area near Phoenix, AZ. House built in 2008, had DSL way back in the Qwest days, but has never had any kind of cable service even available, AFAIK.

A few months ago I watched techs install the orange innerduct at the end of my road, roughly 550ft from my house, and got the door hanger shortly after saying fiber is now available at my address. Went online, and apparently I'm eligible for the ConnectAssist plan based on the address. My internet needs are very low, so the 100Mbps speeds are plenty. If Cox is going to offer me a cheaper option, who am I to say no?

Does this change what actually gets brought to my house as far as fiber vs coax?

Ideally I'd like to bring fiber all the way to my router with a ONU stick, but Cox is saying on the website checkout that I'd be receiving a DOCSIS 3.0 modem which says to me Coax is involved here. My house is already has fiber pulled everywhere, I can easily get fiber outside, I don't have coax anywhere, and I don't want some ham fisted tech needlessly punching another hole through my house for coax.

Does going up to the 300Mbps plan change what they'd bring to the house?

How did you find doc to diagnose as an adult?

46M, diagnosed ADHD at 40. Was hard enough to find a place that dealt with adult ADHD, and I found one. Only one, in a 50 mile radius, and I live in a major metro area. Even then, the "solution" was "let's pack you full of Adzenys, and we'll have monthly reviews where we drug test you to make sure you're not abusing the stuff, then we'll give you even more Adzenys. Rinse, lather, repeat..What? Therapy or other forms of help? Nah...you just need more drugs, but don't take more!!"

It helped, but always still felt like it didn't fully explain things. I recently learned about AuDHD, and had that "HOLY SHIT! IT FITS! This explains my entire life's worth of struggles!!!" moment.

Problem is finding the doc to officially diagnose it. All I'm finding locally are either docs that only work with kids, and a couple places that come across kind of like the ITT Tech of doctors...basically like "pay us $1000-$1200, and we'll put Autistic/ADHD/AuDHD on a piece of paper to hand to your boss. Oh, and we don't accept any insurance, we're absolutely out of network, and people usually don't have a problem getting reimbursed from their insurance"....or pay a bunch of money for a useless "diagnosis".

Better than Diamond 770 for 1/2 wave VHF/UHF mobile?

Had a Larsen NMO02/70 fall off the truck... Whether it got loose and fell off or it crossed paths with sticky fingers I don't know. What I do know is that it's gone. Given the reports of Larsen quality going down the toilet, I'm not sure I want to buy another, so looking to see if there's anything else out there these days.

Have had a couple of the Diamond 770s that worked well enough, but ultimately developed issues in the foldover section. I don't need foldover and would just as soon buy and antenna without it.

I need 1/2 wave because the antenna is mounted on a tab off the front brush guard. I often have a giant camper on the truck, so can't do a roof mount, so have a tab with NMO on the bumper. It frequently gets drug through the bush, so high durability is a check in the need column.

I have absolutely no problem paying good money for a commercial grade antenna, but not one to spend big money just because it's commercial or brand X. I bought Larsen for decades because they flat work and hold up well.

Not fancy coffee places, central Peoria area?

Are there coffee shops any more that have coffees that aren't sugary fancy drinks? I just want regular hot stuff, not lattes, espressos, iced, full of flavor syrups and don't want to spend $10 for it.

I work primarily in the area north of Bell, between 101 & 303. Normally I make coffee in the morning at home, but occasionally get behind. Gas station coffee is lousy any more, and given that most of those dispensers look like that haven't been cleaned since the Bush administration....
