Switched from Conspit Ares Platinum to Simucube 3 Pro — not sure I’m actually feeling the upgrade

Recently switched from a Conspit Ares Platinum to a Simucube 3 Pro, and honestly I’m starting to question whether the upgrade was worth it for me. But after using it, I’m not really getting that “wow” moment I thought I would.

Conspit felt responsive and as detailed as simucube for me. It is slightly sharper than simucube 3 pro but I actually really liked how sharp it is. After switching to the Simucube, I can tell it is very refined, but I’m not sure I’m actually driving better or feeling dramatically more information through the wheel. I’m kind of regretting the switch because the actual driving benefit does not feel as big as I expected.

I got a little bit more pace after the switch but I think the pace actually comes from braking early and keeping the car more stable.

What is your experience after switching equipment, and do you like it or regret it now.

Years ago my post of my semi truck gaming rig here went fairly viral. I’m happy to share that it has continued to evolve into this now absolutely unhinged setup, replacing my passenger seat with an entire Sim Racing/Flight rig

Having a lot of fun trying the rigs at SimRacing Expo Charlotte

One thing I liked about SimRacing Expo Charlotte was that a lot of booths actually let people sit down and drive instead of just looking at products behind a table.

The area had several rigs running, and people were jumping in to try different setups. It was nice to see hardware being used in a real environment with actual feedback from visitors.

Sim racing gear always feels different once you test it in person.
