Overweight kids

Just about to complete first season of coaching soccer.

Have a kid on our team (12) who is ultimately, very short and very fat. To give the kid his due, he always tries and he listens well. He'll never be a world beater but he's definitely capable of much more but he's being held back with his weight.

He had a few bullying issues with his teammates on his last team as a result. One of the boys on my team made a comment early in the season and I nipped it in the bud.

At his age, I feel his weight is a form of child abuse. No idea what his home life is like other than his mom is very supportive of her son at games, and of my coaching generally. No idea if the father is in the picture.

Mom is overweight herself. It's probably overreaching for any reproach to come from a coach, but would you say anything?

Failing to lead my wife

Been married over 20 years, kids are late teens looking at flying the nest soon.

I love my wife dearly, we have an awesome relationship but I feel like I'm failing her as a husband.

I could probably count on 1 hand the number of times we've prayed together or read the Bible together.

It's something that I'd never seen modelled and at this point in our marriage it feels ridiculously awkward and forced. Perhaps that's what is needed?

She falls asleep earlier than me and often when she's sleeping I'll hold her hand and pray for her and us. It's better than nothing but I still feel like there's more to be had for us.

Any advice from either perspective as husband or wife?

Teenage memory I've never spoken of

I'm in my 40s now but when I was around 14 or so a friend and I were hunting around his attic for something. I forget what exactly now because what we came across was a box with his aunt's name on the top and inside was a collection of sex toys and porn mags.

I'd always had a bit of a crush on his aunt (maybe mid-late 20s) when she visited from England - his mom too although a bit older (late 30s). They both looked very alike although his mom had bigger boobs.

Anyway, at some point after this we had started to use this friends laundry room to play video games. I'd started to notice his mom's underwear, some of it just like some of the girls in the porn magazines which I found strange at the time given she was divorced and always at home with my friend and his younger brother.

I do remember one time his mom bent over that made her thong noticeable and my friend was embarrassed and horrified. I said nothing.

NGL, every so often I'd take a pair home to masturbate over.

That stopped when I got my first girlfriend at 16.

Fast forward to sometime after my 18th birthday and my friend and I had been out a club. His mom had been out on the town with a girl friend that night too and had called him to ask if we wanted a ride home rather than pay for a cab.

Being broke students we jumped at the chance. We met his mom and her friend and we drove back to his place - after dropping the girl friend off - where I was staying the night.

We all turned in for the night and I fell asleep for maybe an hour or so before waking up for a piss and a drink of water.

As I came back from the kitchen with my glass of water, his mom's bedroom door was open with a dim sidelight, enough for me to see his mom, eyes closed nightdress hiked up, masturbating with a huge black dildo, one leg still inside her sheets.

I thought I was dreaming. I'd woken up with a semi anyway but was getting hard quickly. I went to move but the floorboard creaked under my foot and his mom opened her eyes. I don't think she was surprised. She put a finger to her lips to intimate keeping quiet and then the other leg came out and she put on a show for what seemed like an eternity. It was likely only a few minutes. I did nothing the whole time other than stand in my boxers and t-shirt watching with an erection. When she finished, she put out her light and huddled under the sheets.

I took that as my queue to go back to bed - perhaps a missed opportunity but I wouldn't have risked ruining the relationship with my friend if I attempted something and advances were rebuffed. Don't shit where you eat and all that.

Next morning over breakfast, it was like nothing had happened. I guess understandable. She enquired if we enjoyed our time at the club, if we got any girls numbers and if we slept well. I mentioned I got up for a drink because I was parched. No response.

I can't help but feel that perhaps some of the contents of the attic box belonged to his mom.

I actually had to stop my wife from buying a particular dildo because it looked very similar to my friend's mom's and I didn't want that in my head when I'm with my wife.

I'm still friend's with him to this day, we messaged just last week but maybe saw his mom a few times more after that night and we moved out of our respective parent's homes.

Legal position for a business owned by wife and husband divorcing

My sister and soon to be ex brother-in-law are going through a divorce.

Both parties are at fault with infidelity on both sides. It's a mess. My sister over the last decade has built a moderately successful business although it's been having a hard time over the last 2 years.

Her husband has contributed very little to this business other than maybe a little paperwork here and there but is a 50% shareholder.

She offered to give him the house in the divorce but he's knocked that back and wants to keep his share of the business. I'm surmising he's expecting she'll have an uptick in the future and he'd be set to gain more than taking the house. He's wanting the business valued as part of the divorce process.

Is there anyway she can rid herself of this absolute parasite?

Personally I'd sooner tank my business and start again from scratch than be held to ransom. It might not be that easy in this situation because of the IP in the business.

Managing jealousy

My wife has a bit of a jealousy issue and I'm doing my best to be gracious.

I have a job that I enjoy, pays well and gives me a 4 day week.

My wife on the other hand, has a job that she's not that bothered about, pays well but is 5 days a week.

My Friday off I generally do something to get out of the house (I work remotely), golf, cinema, a hike, lunch. Her jealousy stems from wanting to spend time with me doing the things I do on my Friday.

I'm generally back home for the kids coming in from school and try to make dinner on that day but there's a continual undercurrent.

Outside of us both praying, I don't know how to manage it. I shouldn't be made to feel guilty about my work.
