McDonalds “Discount”

Is the someone just pocketing all the money when customers pay in cash? I always pay cash and this is the fourth time my receipt shows “manager meal discount”, when I obviously did not receive any discount. Anyone have another explanation for this?

Beware of UBER Scam

My friends and I recently had a very frustrating Uber experience and we wanted to share it as a warning for others who use Uber.

We booked an UberX from Pearson Airport for 4 people and some luggage. We weren’t completely sure if we should book an UberX or XL. When the driver arrived, it was an SUV (Black Lexus Tx 350) that fit everything comfortably. The driver accepted the ride without mentioning any issues at pickup and completed the trip normally, he shared no concerns.

Upon drop-off, the driver started taking photos of us and our bags, which we already thought was a red flag since he never said anything before.

1 hour later, we get an email from Uber that we have been up-charge from $65 to $265.
After emailing Uber customer support - it appears the driver had reported a waiting time, and wrongfully accused us of URINATING(????) in his car.

After consistent back and forth messaging with Uber, and no proof of GPS wait time / falsely time stamped photos we were able to get our money refunded. However, it appears this has happened to other people and they did not get money back.

We believe this was in “retaliation” to us not booking an UberXL. Which is something the driver should have said to us directly from the start and he should have refused the ride.
(Obviously people from the airport will have luggage). Anyway, he received a 1 star rating from us and a $0 tip.

Moral of the story: These money hungry drivers will do anything to scam you for your money. Make sure to take time stamped pics when you leave the vehicle and review your receipts after riding.
