I always check the racks of scarves at thrifts. They’re cheap… and vintage ones aren’t hard to come buy. I love tying the silky ones on my head like bandannas (fellow GenX femmes may recognize my inspiration: Rhoda Morgenstern from the Mary Tyler Moore Show).

Anyway. I saw this one and can’t find info about these little accent charms. Surprised I’ve never come across them in…four or five decades of thrifting.

At every thrift store I visit, I usually check the racks of scarves for sixties and seventies silk numbers I can use for my quirky vintage outfits—especially as hair bandannas. Bonus: they’re usually cheap cheap cheap.

In all my decades doing this, how is it I’ve never come across any with these little lock and key charms? The tag is annoyingly unhelpful and doesn’t reveal the brand name. Anyone seen this?

First time posting—hi. I’m a writer, GenX mother of three adults living just north of the Chicago border. I’m living through a weird, sad, stressful time without a support network, and falling back on my whimsical and creative tendencies mainly to keep my morale up.

I find myself gravitating to slow, quiet things that take time to unfold. I’m just battle-weary from the strains of this era with its fresh, novel humilities and hellscapes (some general, some personal), and it’s made me (temporarily?) less tolerant of chirpy patter and quick cuts.

Music to my ears these days: 3-5 mile walks; snoozy podcasts dedicated to science, history, inventions, art and architecture, mental/physical health or just the telling of small, true human tales; large household chores that take dedicated focus but low mental effort; cozy episodic TV mystery series for before bed (may I recommend: Poker Face, Death in Paradise and the family favorite Monk)

Reliably, Spring provides a visual feast. On foot or on my bike I’m spoiled by the charms of this prairie biome and my bustling village, waking up after a long winter. I’m solar powered, it turns out. And I do stop for flowers
