Goodwill

Found the the grail of a lifetime for me at my local Goodwill. They obviously didn't know that people would pay hundreds of dollars for one bottle. They had them lotted together for $9.99.

Where'd all the discount stores disappear to?

Where did all the affordable discount shopper stores go to? Prices are high and I am avoiding the mall clothing. Stores outside the mall use to be more affordable but now are on par with the mall. Second hand stores like good will/value village/ross I've given up on. I won't wear used clothing, gross. Ross is seconds and they're hit or miss and I do not like their business practices. I don't trust sites like temu or ali because I don't like their business practices. What else is out there?

I was not looking for a chair…😻

The minute I saw this hand painted chair I knew I had to have it.

It fits with my decor out here in the country, but that’s not why I bought it. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was handmade by an Amish person.

I flipped it over and confirmed that it is stamped with the name of its maker in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

If you haven’t yet, zoomed in to see the price, it’s the large sum of $10. When I got to the cash register, I was told yellow tags were half off today! I almost didn’t stop in…

I love this crazy small world find so much!

AITAH for wanting the mugs I planned on buying back?

I just moved into my first home and I only moved in with two mugs. I decided I would only buy hand made thrifted mugs. Today I went thrifting and headed straight to the mug section to see what I could find. I found the two cutest mugs that appeared to be hand made. I walked around for about an hour with the mugs and then went to the front to checkout. I put my stuff down to wander around and browse the jewelry which is behind the counter around the cash registers. When I came full circle my mugs were gone and someone was in the act of checking out with them. I was able to stop them in time and they seemed kind of annoyed. She was willing to give the mugs back to me but her friend that was with her made it seem like she could not believe I could have the audacity or even the right to do such a thing. I ended up keeping one and she kept the other. I know I should have been using a cart but I decided not to that day. Aitah for saying something?

Godly thrift find for my style

Found this at my local Goodwill! They usually don't have stuff for my style but I like to go thrifting with my older brother from time to time. It was only $20, I saved around $60-$100

It's in great condition apart from a little leather peeling on the back, but you can barely see it. It was already pretty clean when I got it but still obviously gave it a little bit of a wash when we got home.

Into the leather and buckle collection it goes!

It is faux leather. I can tell just from the texture, but it's definitely a bit more realistic faux leather then most of the leather clothes I do own which is thin and oddly shiny. This is thick and a little more rough. :3

I'm usually a small/medium in jackets, but for a large it oddly fit like a medium lol

Incredible haul yesterday

Found the Icebreaker tops first. My wife was looking at dresses and I felt bad she was not finding anything that fit. Went over to help look through pants with her (as a good partner does) and about fell over as I was flipping hangers.

Ironically we were at REI the night before looking at base layers for an upcoming trip.
