Acquired a GB Micro this year, happy to be a part of the community.

New to the Micro this year! Never owned one growing up as I was already a couple years out of school when it released. Not only that but I was more a Playstation guy, so I was carrying a psp already.

I do own a couple original advance and SPs, but like others have said this is one of the most portable handhelds and holds up very well for its age. Mine stays in the lunch bag, it comes in clutch during the slow work days!

I was always impressed by how native the advances felt when playing some of the games ported from NES. The screen on these are impressive albeit the size, but you almost forget about it once the game loads up. Lol

So, which advance games do you all feel play the best on the Micro, or are just your favorites in general?

Thanks for having me.

Almost got skunked thrifting

Had 0 luck finding anything at the thrift stores with my wife. As we were about to leave the last store, I spotted this in a tub of power cords. I'll always take a small win.

Funtastic Jungle Green Acquired

My wife asked about Funtastic 64s not long ago; she wanted to try and collect them all. Looking up prices online, she quickly became disinterested. Then, a couple of days ago, a guy in town posted this to his timeline asking if anyone would be interested. She shared the post with me so I figured I'd check it out. Although, with the 3 aftermarket controllers and pile of shovelware, I saw enough value to make it worth our while, so I PM'd him. I paid him $200. It wasn't a "pennies on the dollar" deal but still within reason and it was local.

Now we've got a genuine green 64, a few more games in the collection, and were able to trade off some of the doubles already for other gaming pieces we wanted/needed.

Cheers to a Funtastic future!

Wife comes thru, again!

Local guy posted to his own Facebook timeline and my wife happened to see it. I was 20+ minutes late to the post and about 10 comments behind, but I was still able to secure the bag because the scalpers were too busy calculating. This is a nice piece to add to the collection!

Edit: "scalpers" was resellers. I meant someone trying to make a quick buck. Had to correct it since it was a misconception and causing a lot of issues in the comments.

Dedicated shelf

Before my basement flooded this was part of my game shelves. I will be cleaning up any cases that have stickers, cracks, etc before displaying them again. I've also acquired a few new pieces since (thanks to my daughters) and can't wait to update you guys with the new gameroom setup soon! Thanks for looking!

Good year so far!

I've just joined here so I'll share a few recent grails I've acquired.

Beginning of this year, an older neighbor of mine mentioned he had a ps3 he was getting rid of. I didn't need a ps3 but naturally asked what hdd size, he was unsure. Got back to me and said it's a 60gb and he still has the box. As fast as I could I was on my way! Got there, the box was never broke down with paperwork still inside. Came with 2 controllers, a pile of games, and some blurays for just under $300.

A couple months later I came across a Halo Edition XBOX with games on marketplace. Messaged the guy and asked if he had anything else. Ended up walking away with the XBOX/games and a Gameboy Micro for $500. I was extremely happy!

My third pick up this year was the JVC X'EYE. This was a complete shock. Just a couple of weeks ago I was looking at shelving at a local pawn store they were remodeling. They didn't have much for a gaming section but did have a few consoles and games out. There was nothing I needed but told him I was looking for a SEGA CD. He went to the back then came out saying, "all I've got is this broken JVC X'EYE." My eyeballs about popped outta my head as this is the first time I'd ever seen on in person as well. In a box it was in three pieces, missing the drive bracket, no cords or controllers, and the buttons/screws were in a bag. It did include sewer shark, not that it's worth much. He wasn't sure what it needed so offered it to me for $100, I took the risk. After cleaning it up, putting back together, and acquiring a power source, it turned on and worked perfectly. It was beautiful and I was satisfied!

Here are a few pictures. The rest of my collection is currently in storage because of remodel. I'll make a post with all of my consoles once it's done! Thanks.

W for Wifey!

Wife shared a post for a White PS2 bundle on our local marketplace so I replied to it. Met up this afternoon and walked away with this for $175. Not a pennies on the dollar steal but better than ebay and it took 5 minutes. We needed the ps2 for our white Playstation collection and finding this CIB of one of my favorite childhood instrument games is amazing, so it was a no brainer. Shouldn't be long and we'll have the game room set back up! Let's shred! Cheers!!

By sheer luck this morning!?

I was passing through a small town and just happened to notice a "garage sale this way" sign. It being on a Sunday I was kinda leery it was just old, but the sale was there. Found a stack of dvds and games. Not really any great titles, but at 2/$1 there was no reason not to take them. Didn't have most of these anyway. I also have many empty cases so might be able to CIB a few! A couple are pretty scratched, so I'll see if my resurface machine will clean em up. Not sure what the Far Cry 2 plays on if anything, ps3 just read as data disc. Didn't have more time to investigate before work as I was already running late for a nap. Cheers!

Pleasant surprises

Found a Halo Edition XBOX to add to my collection on marketplace. Asked the guy if he had anything else not listed yet, walked away with a Nintendo Micro also. It came with a Lego star wars cartridge as well.

Showed up to a house a day early(on accident) for a garage sale. Homeowners were outside, so I asked about video games. Woman takes my number and I pick this 2DS and some games up a few days later.

The power of the ASK! Cheers!

Real busy today! 😁

Just enjoying a little drink and some Mario Kart on my recent garage sale pick up while I wait for the pool to finish filling up. What's your go to 3DS game just to pass a little time?
