I adore when things work out 💞

I’ve been painting since I was 5, I was self taught and adore oils. Growing up I watched Jazza and SuperRaeDizzle all the time.

I got to highschool and fell in love with acting, I got to preform in front of thousands of people at 15 and again at 16. I had a few scholarships and lots of skills

Then I joined the military out of highschool. My family was not wealthy, I wanted to make something of myself. I refused to be in debt from college loans.

Then, 2 years into the hardest school of my life - 14 to 16 hour days, fittest I’d ever been. I got diagnosed with EDS, Widespread tendinitis, hip dysplasia, and a few other things that brought an abrupt halt to my budding career.

In the span of my time in the service, I lost 5 of my people, dealt with assault, I got married, I drew when I had time.

I’m a housewife now. And starting to paint again. It’s been jarring to say the least and I don’t quite know how to talk to my paintings these days. It’s like trying to befriend someone you lost a long time ago.

I make masks, I make props, I paint, I model. I love art.

I’m lucky to have people in my life that love my art too. My husband pushed me to make this piece and it’s not as dramatic as my usual oils. But I’m satisfied with it. He was so excited to put it on the wall.

Hello! I’m a multimedia artist, prop-mistress, and model who’s been painting for years off and on, but only now truly taking the time to kick myself in gear. Here’s some of my work, I’d love to see some of y’all’s works and the inspirations behind them!

I pull heavily from early Surrealist and Dada, post-modernism and Commedia Del Arté, though I’m not sure it’s always evident. I hope my work brings you some joy ❤️

Two clay pots I found at a thrift store in Midland TX yesterday alongside some Don Quixote whiskey tumblers. Trying to get a proper date but having a hard time finding when they may have been made.

They smell super earthy and this is after giving them a light cleaning.

This is a piece I’ve been working on, it’s all hand sculpted and painted, but I genuinely cannot tell if I’m just being hard on myself or if I don’t like it 🫠

I’ve done countless skincare routines, I rarely ever get any other acne except for these tiny white bumps with fluid in them. They might have a little speck of white solid in them once in a blue moon but it’s so frustrating. I use Fenty moisturizing foundation, wash my face daily, and have quite a clean diet. Idk how to get rid of these 🫠 advice would be much appreciated.

For background info: I have h-EDS which causes my skin to be much more sensitive and thinner.

She’s still pretty skittish but has been warming up a lot!!! I’m an artist so I spend a whole day at a time in my office sketching/editing/etc or playing games. She’s been staying around her cage or on top of it, never coming out for super long but today she got within a foot of me on her own! She’s been super vocal and starts chirping when I’m not in the room, gets super chirpy when she wants treats lol.

She even has some new little feathers coming in over her nose!!!!

Hey everyone! It’s my first time drawing animal skulls and I’m having a hell of a time finding any good reference for a German shepherd and a sheepdog skull for a tattoo I’m doing with my little sister. I know the anatomy isn’t great, I’m doing what I can with the pics I’ve found but perspective isn’t my strong suit anyhow and I’d love any advice or good references. Ty!

We just got back from a trip and I realized with much dismay that my 70 year old salt cured frogfish was missing from his stand.

Honestly I didn’t even think about it being a fish with a cat in the house, it’s been there for weeks now and she’s never so much as sniffed at it.

She’s perfectly fine, but was incredibly lovey dovey when we got home and proceeded to poop EVERYWHERE after the fact, maybe because of the fish, maybe because of the salmon skins her caretaker gave her while we were gone.

Either way, my poor fishy 😔

Still working on the costume when I have time between commissions, Arlecchino is finally on his mount

Hello everyone, my husband and I just adopted a conure who was at the store for a very long time, she was picked on by the other birds and has a bald spot so she kept getting passed over :( I used to rescue a lot of birds when I was younger, but only really have experience with injured doves and blue jays. I rescued a hawk once but she was very lovey from the get go and I’ve never dealt with a bird this intelligent.

She’s very curious, always looking at us and trying to see what we’re doing. We’ve been mostly just leaving her or her own space letting her get settled in. She’s been beak grinding and eats around us, our home tends to be very quiet and calm. She was behind sound proof glass all alone for almost a year and is very quiet, she doesn’t chirp much at all and only very seldom gets loud. She does NOT like hearing other conures or parakeets at all - we were watching a video on bonding with them and she overheard it. Very angry chirps.

She just sits in the corner of her cage and stares. She doesn’t like us coming close, and only really settles in if we entirely ignore her presence. She has treats and toys but doesn’t play with them much. It’s only been a week and we know it’s a lot of just patience and patience waiting for them to open up on their time, but we just want to do our best and are very open to any advice on how to better bond with her or make her feel more comfortable. With how long she spent at the store I don’t know how best to make her comfy here and we don’t want to stress her out :(

This is Ducky, she’s a ghost tabby with the sweetest little Disney face and voice. I’ve posted vids of her watching me paint but she loves to watch me work and sit in my lap while I do commissions
