Protecting ourselves from SpaceX IPO

Protecting ourselves from SpaceX IPO

I was watching this video analyzing the upcoming SpaceX IPO, titled "SpaceX IPO: Nice Try Though" by Patrick Boyle. I highly recommend it - there is almost no fluff and just hard hitting points all the way through about how SpaceX is a terrible company and how this IPO looks like a scam:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHD8BDFYyGI

It mentions the changes to Nasdaq's rules, the so called "fast track" rule, made specially for SpaceX because Elon allegedly threatened to not list SpaceX on the Nasdaq stock exchange without this. The change has been criticized by many others such as Michael Burry:

Also see this great analysis titled "Nasdaq's Shame":

Given how this IPO looks like a scam, and the company is mostly losing money, with outlandish claims in their IPO filing (like having an addressable market larger than the US GDP), I am worried that this is just private investors - like venture capitalists, Elon Musk, and his inner circle of friends/family - dumping their overpriced money losing company on regular investors like us. The fast track change seems like it will result in all of us automatically buying SpaceX shares at a high price.

How do we stop this? Is there a good way to defend against that forced purchasing when most regular investors are just passively buying ETFs and mutual funds, or maybe just have money parked in their pensions and 401k?

Unable to add bank account for refund on IRS website

I got a CP53E and CP30A in the mail saying I have an (unexpected) refund. I thought it was a scam at first, but I found some posts online saying that it's not and that people are getting it if you were in a disaster area or something like that. When I log into my online IRS account, I do see the same notices that they sent by mail in the online message inbox. So I guess it is legitimate.

But what's weird is when I check the "refund status" for tax year 2025, it says the expected refund is 0.00 and the status is "return received" rather than "refund approved". This seems to contradict the information in the notices that are in the online message inbox.

On the IRS account home page, I see a link that says "Add bank account for 2025 refund" in the "Notifications" box. So it seems like they're asking me for this info to give me a refund. But when I click it, it takes me to the same refund status page I mentioned before, where it says the expected refund is 0.00 and the status is "return received". There's no place to put in the bank account information.

The notices they sent also say they only do electronic payments due to some executive order and that I have to respond within 30 days to get a refund. So how do I get my money if they only do electronic payments but their website I have no refund? Anyone else running into this?

Are FedEx 1 day / 2 day shipping options a scam?

I don’t understand how FedEx does not deliver by the time they promise, that you pay extra for. They give you specific days and time windows that packages will arrive by, but those times come and go and they just keep updating the estimate AFTER the previous time passes.

But when you select the options initially, the messaging is as if you’re paying for a guaranteed delivery by a certain time. Isn’t this fraud? They’re collecting fees for a particular delivery but then doing whatever they want and not providing the service you pay for.
