Just listed my house today with a broker family friend. He stated it's better to list high and offer incentives instead of going below market and shooting for a bidding war. On Zillow today we are about a 1 like for every 20 views. Is this ok or does this show the house is priced too high.
A lot of the other houses that were recently posted have a higher ratio like 1/15 or 1/10.
I know it only takes one person to bite in order to sell. Does this even matter?
Currently still living in my small 1300sqft paid off starter home. Trying to decide if I should buy a 2200sqft or a 3000sqft+ house in a desirable suburban area. We are planning on having kids very soon and don't want to have to think about the move during that process.
Are the additional costs that come with the additional space worth it?
I have been a huge believer in the theory addition by subtraction which is reducing your stuff to have a cleaner simpler life
At what point does it become more of a burden than a blessing?
Based on your past experiences what do you recommend?

I would probably pay for the house in full with cash but there are more headaches and costs that come with the additional space.

I am currently located in upstate New York. It looks like this year I am going to make around 900k salary/commission at my company. Projected to increase 40% per year over the next 3 years.
Would it make sense for me to move to Florida for the next few years to offset the state taxes? I would probably rent out my house (to a family member in NY) and rent a condo for the duration.
Or are there any other tax strategies that I can do to shield myself as a high earning employee with no access to stock options.
Thanks
