Finally - My first full roll of silver dimes!
After 6000+ rolls of CWR dimes this year, got my first full roll of silver dimes! 😁
All Mercs too!
Noticed the short roll but came in weighing over 122+ grams!
Paused in my tracks and told my Dad I think this roll is full of silver!
Happy hunting gents!
Found this at a consignment shop, listed silver plate but unsure of the marking. Google search says Moroccan teapot silver plate?
Went to an estate sale yesterday where they had a lot of sterling for sale but they were asking for $1.75 per gram. That's melt price! I did not buy anything but there were 2 guys that bought 16K worth of Sterling! Apparently they were resellers, but how are they going to make any money buying sterling at spot?
This morning as I was leaving a bank and noticed a hot pink Estate Sale sign. This is an upper class area so what the heck, I stopped by to see what they had for sale.
Found sterling being sold below melt but since they were about to close for the day, I asked if there were any additional discounts and was told it will be 30% off tomorrow but he wind up honoring the 30% off today for me.
Left with these beauties! Gorham nut dish for $58 each and a pair of sterling handle tongs for $40 after the discount!
The dish are 193g total! 😁
Same Chase Bank that had the 40%ers last week, had a few today as well!
90% and 2 40%ers!
Happy Friday and happy hunting gents!
I stop by this charity consignment store every other week and have found a good amount of sterling but today topped them all!
First item was a pair of sterling salt and pepper shakers, one missing the top for $10 for 76g.
Second it is a 800 silver sherbet bowl for $10 for 45g.
Rogers sterling candlestick $25 thinking they'll net at least 25-30g.
Single sterling pepper shaker (weighted) $16
Now the biggest score yet! Korean cloisonné set in 99 silver! Similar sets online have sold for $1000+ and estimated weight is 650g! Paid a whopping $28!
Walmart Coinstar found 2 silver dimes on the ground! 😁
This jelly spoon was listed at $35.
Saw the hallmarks and went ahead and bought it.
Definitely tested silver with acid test.
Curious what origin is the server from?
Saw these listed as plated without any markings in the ad, but the telltale signs they were sterling so took a chance on them. I was wrong, they were not sterling but rather 900 Egyptian silver!
Not bad for $18 — 62 grams of 900 silver!
Long time ebayer - mostly buying and never really sold anything on that platform until just 3 months ago.
Found a niche and made sure my items were lowest priced and it paid off! Profit margin is less but volume makes up the difference!
2 of my items make up the majority of the sales and the other 20 just sits there!
Coins are forte!
We haven't posted in a while due to a long silver skunk streak. Last 40 boxes we probably only found a couple 40% to show for our efforts.
Halves have been tough and dimes have been equally tough. But today a teller tray $2.50 in halves turned Up 4 40%. Found more silver in one transaction than the last 3 months hunting!
Happy hunting gents!
Dutch serving with Royal-D and Lion Rampart.

No other hallmarks that I can find.

Found on Facebook marketplace - listed French silver plate.

Russian silver is also stamped 84 - Russian 84 silver refers to an antique silver standard used in Czarist Russia and the early Soviet era. The "84" represents zolotniki, an obsolete Russian unit of weight.

Thoughts, French or Russian silver?
FB Market place score - listed as French silver plate but I believe it's Russian 87.5% silver.

The hallmark 84 indicates a silver purity of 875/1000 (84/96 zolotniks), which is a standard used in Russian silver from the 18th to the early 20th.

Acid tested silver!

Weighs 476g for $30 plus shipping!
Haven't posted much lately since silver has been running dry in my area but tonight I found a nice surprise in a CWR of dimes.
It's not unusual to find a penny crammed inside of a roll of dimes, but never a 1943 steel penny!
Still out 9 cents for the roll though! 🤣
Antique shop had this letter opener in a cup mixed with other nick-nacks and other letter openers.
Closer inspection reveals Dutch sword hallmark!
50g for $35!
Seller had these 2 Dutch spoons list for $40 plus shipping. He was not aware of the metal composition nor did he know about the Dutch sword hallmark.
Confirmed once I was able to view it under a loupe and acid test confirms it!
Total weight 49g.
Found this cup at an antique store for $10.
Marked silver plate but I had a feeling it was sterling. Looked and felt like sterling plus the dents on the side of the cup and the dents on the base and the engraving.
Hunch paid off - acid test was positive for silver!
Weighs 105g
Hallmark on the bottom but can't really make it out, thinking it might be coin silver!
Found these 2 sterling bonbon dishes at an antique store but can't tell who the maker is from my research.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you
